Let's do an Airfixx and actually check what Man City scored before Haaland got there.

KDB: 15
Sterling: 13
Mahrez: 11
Foden: 9
Gundo: 8
Jesus: 8
Silva: 8
Rodri: 7
Laporte: 4

Total: 83 goals

That's leaving out 7 other scorers who scored 13 between them.

Let's try an picture us replicating that for us:
Son: 15
Maddison: 15 (has never scored more than 12)
Richarlison: 13 (his highest tally in the PL (including pens)
Porro: 5 (highest league tally in Portugal was 4)
Udogie: 5 (highest in Italy was 5 as a WB)
Bentancur: 5 (scored 2 in his entire Juve career)
Bisosuma: 5. (scored 3 goals in 4 seasons at Brighton)

You're looking at 63 goals, which would be one of our lowest scoring seasons since Poch took over. That's with most of the named players matching or beating their best ever goal scoring season, with Bissouma scoring more than his last 5 seasons combined.

Do you see how unrealistic that is?

It's not as simple as "just distribute the goals around". "Yeah, Udogie will get 5 goals, no worries".

That's not doing an 'airfixx'..... You used made up figures.:richtongue:

Also; thats 9 players vs 7 and you've not considered the goalscoring potential of:

Kulu
Solomon
Perisic
Sarr (already has 1)
Gil
Romero (already has 1)
PEH (?)
Johnson (?)

I just don't feel like Skipp adds anything tangible. to the team.
On top of that, he's had a poor injury record and I don't think I've seen a game where he hasn't lunched in stupidly risking a red.
His game needs refinement, it's clear for all to see. But at 22 years old without much PL experience under his belt, all he needs is the right manager to coach and refine his game. He has a lot of tools to be a very useful PL midfielder, he is aggressive in the press, has a decent eye for a pass and actually not a bad shot on him for a more defensive-minded midfielder. He isn't very good in the air and likely never will be, he has a habit of being caught out of position at times, and as you said, he is a bit rash in the tackle at times. But I don't see anything in his game (aside from aerials) that can't be worked on and improved upon. He could end up being another Winks, where he has hit his ceiling early and won't get any better, in which case 2-3 years down the line you'd like to see another academy prospect coming up and taking his spot off him so we can fuck him off to a Leicester a la Winks, but far too early to write him off after just 1 full season, a season which our fanbase universally agrees was an unequivocal disaster.
PEH is as good as he will ever be and that is to say, a bench option at best for a prospective champions league side in England.

Not sure about the lunched or lunged (even,) but I am not yet convinced that Skipp is more than hardworking and homegrown.

If we let Hjojberg go, not to replace him.and then to rely on Skipp, who is currently behind Bissouma (definitely) and Sarr (for now), would be as risky as relying on Misshitharlison as our only striker.

Oh wait...

Interestingly Hojbjerg is linked with ManU - I know several and they think he's a better CM than most that they have, so the interest is probably real

It won't suit the narrative on some TFC fans if he moves from Spurs (where apparently 'he's not good enough') to go to ManU !
Go read Red Cafe thread on him. Vast majority don't want him, those that do mostly say "good backup for Casemiro". They only want him on their bench as well.
