if it leads to this then its worth the hard push right? (sadly we know it most likely wont but always a 1% chance lol )

It's probably around 15-20 in HG tax on these British players who show potential. Even more for some.

Brighton quoting ridiculous numbers for Ferguson.

I actually don't care about the fee too much any more, we spent 100 mil on Lo Celso and Ndombele but then got Bentancur, Bissouma and Maddison for peanuts in comparison.

Johnson and say Gallagher will always offer more than what we got from Gio and Ndom in my opinion.

Swings and roundabouts. I just wish the club would be more proactive get them in and recoup afterwards.
Talking about the dead weight already at the club from seasons gone by shouldn't hold us back in the present as much as it does. We really need to improve on this in future

It seems like the only outs we’re going to complete are loans

I wonder if we’re going to get stung by exceeding the maximum amount again 😂

I suspect that’s why we don’t want to loan out Dier. We’ll probably let him go on a free with lloris. It doesn’t look like either of them will be named in the PL squad list so won’t be able to play until January. Unless they go on a free and tip upon Saudi.

He was a good bit younger than the other players mentioned though, lots of reason to project growth from him, it just didn't happen.

It was him looking totally out of his depth in the PL that was the warning sign. That dropped his price to what Spurs, undeterred, were willing to pay.

Meh. I feel like if he had looked raw but talented you could say that, but my view of him was always that he was a player who matured early but never looked like he had some high ceiling. And then yes, he looked really limited in the Premier League but could see that coming a mile off.

The warning signs were there pre-PL though, imo. The signs of an early developer rather than someone who was going to explode.

That's fine and the distinction you mention is real, but Sess being Champo Team of the Season at 16 and Player of the Season at 17 are pretty unique accomplishments, it's not like many comparisons are available.
