The same quantity of tickets are sold to members through the two windows for Cat A matches as for Cat B and C, so as long as you are in the queue when your window(s) opens you have as much chance as any other member. FWIW I believe that there are around 7000 general admission tickets available to members, about 1000 being released in the OH+ window, the remainder in the OH window the following day.
The Ticket Exchange is probably your best bet though; is there a reason why your "primary aim is to buy the tickets direct as single match tickets"? You will still be buying them direct from the club as single match tickets if you go through the Exchange...
