You said anything above 6th is overachieving, no?
That's what I got from it.
Yes, that doesn't mean we can't expect to do anything better than 6th

I think when Rival fans were singing "Daniel Levy, we want you to stay " it's pretty clear the game is up.I actually like him as a poster but he's called me a cunt because he wanted to win an argument by picking at semantics instead of honestly engaging in how the mood was last season. sticking to the word "Protest" as if the away fans singing "Daniel Levy get out of our club" wasn't a form of protest. Also there was a protest in stadium with balloons whether he thinks it was good enough to meet his lofty standards or not.
I'm not even fully Levy out. Half the time I'm toungue in cheek, other half i'm consciously venting because another season is a false dawn and I've actually bought in again. Levy does what he can within in the constraints of our ownership model.

For years we were scammed with the bullshit line that the bigger stadium, highest ticket prices, and money from non football events would allow us to compete with Europe's elite, when all we've done is actually go backwards, fall out of Europe altogether while Daniel Levy has fattened his bank account as the ££££s roll in.
He's the longest surviving, most financially rewarded chairman in PL history and yet we're going nowhere and win nothing.
It's time for a change, fresh ideas and a new direction
Well we were never going to change out the entire squad to fit a manager who has never coached at a bigger club than Celtic, it's an unrealistic ask. And even if we were, swapping the squad in a single window is likely to lead to pretty poor results. Look at Chelsea, loads spent for fuck all result.Hmm. It was entirely foreseeable depth was obviously an issue with a coach so wedded to a style of play.
Are you talking about this season or say 2 years down the line?
If you're not specific enough in your questions then how do you expect me to answer them although I think you're arguing in bad faith as per anyway...
Ok so 2 years down the line, if both are trophyless and one is a Top 4, where will that get us?
Again, depends on context- you love a binary scenario don't you
For the record I think in 2 years time I expect us to be competing for all trophies if we carry on with this trajectory since last season, I don't think we'll be far away.

Was always going to take multiple windows. The encouraging thing is that when our best 11 are actually fit and available, we're really fucking good. We need to spend in January and next summer to turn over the back end of the squad, for sure.
What do you base that optimism on? what has that got to do with the difference between Top 4 or a Trophy as a measurement of success?
Look at what's happening at the club, look at the recruitment, look at our academy and our under 18's and 21's, look at the structure we have with the staff we have now, everything we have in place will now set us up to compete.
But what has that got to do with Top 4 or trophies being a measure of success.
We have been there before under Poch where we were in a position to challenge for things. It got us nowhere.
When Poch was our manager he wasn't supported by great infrastructure, we had no money, we were in the middle of building a stadium and our recruitment was a mess, it's not quite the same.
Maybe you should follow your own advice, 'Remain silent'.You claim to be a spurs fan, yet can't spell WHL properly, ok.
Reasoning?
You have posted a mountain of shit and have such a lack of self awareness you then talk about 'reasoning'. Fuck me!!
You and a lot of your fellow shit talkers remind me of this quote quite often...
Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and to remove all doubt
Fuck me, you're one of the biggest idiots on here. I won't be taking any advice from a prick like you.
Ange already said this even before the window shut:

So I don't know why people are re-writing history now about transfers, everyone acknowledged that we were in a bad place last season in terms of our squad and accepted this season as a write off.
The fact is that what we are going through with injuries is unprecedented even for a team playing 1 game a week, no-one would have envisaged about of players missing and in particular all at the same time.
The one bone I have to pick with what we're seeing is playing Royal at CB rather than Ashley Phillips. I think it's reactionary to the idea that we're in the title fight (fringe, now) and want to stay there. Similar to what happened after Poch's team ran close in the league - we convinced ourselves we were on the precipice and didn't want to fiddle with the squad too much.
We bought Ashley Phillips to be a CB of the future. So blood him. He doesn't need to stay at the first team level, but give him a taste and see where he's at. Good for him and good for us. The goal this season was to change the tactics, change the culture, and see who worked and who didn't. Seeing Royal at CB accomplishes none of that, and we lose anyway.
