Manager Ange Postecoglou

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Well, let's hope he gives him the appropriate backing then. Although, deep down, I think we all know the likely outcome.
And he will retain the support of his more fanatical followers regardless.
In my opinion Levy has to back him, AP has already proved that the majority of "his" signings have hit the ground running; Vicario, VDV and Maddison, Solomon was a good option too. Aswell as on the whole getting a good tune out of previous signings Porro( who's been excellent), Sarr, Bissouma, Udogie, lo celso(recently)

And of course the more established senior players at the club.

He's had obstacles that Jose and Conte never had.

I've noticed that Ange doesn't seem to like Paul Miles very much. Or at least doesn't respect his interviewing style. Can't say I blame him.
He's largely insufferable. Speaks in gormless platitudes and has a whiff of the Chuckle Brother about him.

Ange certainly seems to find the ground very interesting in their interviews :ange-lol:

Especially with Conte. Levy was lauded as the messiah for appointing him.
I was hounded all over the forum and urged give him head..

Came into a failed squad.

And it is no way near fixed.

We got spoilt at the beginning of the season.

But many knew it was impossible to sustain, due to inevitable injuries/suspensions.

With only a first 11, this season was always going to get bumpy.

It's actually better it happened earlier, rather than later; Ange can at least try and squeeze 2/3 players out of Bald Cunt, in Jan, with a much better case.
Hrytn Hrytn how did you envisage our season going with only having a decent starting 11?

I'm not having a dig, but surely 1 point from 15, including 3 straight home losses where we've led in all 3 (unprecedented in 140 years) is meltworthy territory?

If not, what then would you say it IS justified. ......1 point from 21? 10 without a win?

Accusing fans of melting after such a pathetic, awful run of results comes across as somewhat patronising and high horsemanship, if you don't mind me saying .
Possibly if you look at the results in isolation.

If you watch and analyse the games, you’d be an absolute fool to be melting.

Moyes simply contained us for the first half - West Ham actually had the best chance of the half, but Paqueta failed to pull the trigger.

In the second half he allowed his team, who are playing more football than anyone in the league mind, to press all over the pitch. This forced mistakes from us and it resulted in good opportunities. The second goal in particular highlighted how West Ham had got into our heads and made us jittery.

So Moyes basically schooled Ange and has laid the blueprint for everyone else to follow. Let Spurs blow themselves out first half and then take advantage in the second.

We will be lucky to get Europe this season and my money will be on WHU having a more successful season.

I guess I disagree that he has had nearly a long enough tenure for him to be needing to "get results" without his words ringing empty.

At the end of next season (24-25) is when discussions can be had if he's doing a job. Provided he's been backed. I think Ange would agree too.

Fair point, and I could have made it clearer that it’s not now but that he needs to start showing results or his words will start to ring empty. There should be no knee jerking and no Ange out nonsense, but if we lose to Newcastle and make it 4 home losses on the trot, that’s a concern. I think Ange would agree too, especially with the words he’s now said on winning and not just playing pretty.

An angry Ange Postecoglou interrupted Tottenham Hotspur’s club reporter to shoot down his suggestion that the team had played well during the defeat by West Ham United, claiming unfounded positivity “is part of the problem”.

Cristian Romero scored early for Spurs, but Postecoglou’s side once again threw away their lead as second-half goals by Jarrod Bowen and James Ward-Prowse sealed a 2-1 win for the away side. Tottenham are the first team in Premier League history to drop points from a winning position in five consecutive games.

“That’s been the clear message from day one to the players, that we play this style of football not to get pats on the back, we play this style of football to win games and bring success to this football club. You need to embrace that. It’s not easy and I’m not saying it’s easy but that’s where we need to be.”

The Tottenham captain Son Heung-min criticised his side for being “soft”, with defeat by West Ham meaning Spurs have now picked up only one point from their past five Premier League games.

“We lost the game, which is unacceptable,” Son said. “You get the lead five times in a row and losing the game I think is unacceptable, and as players we should take responsibility.

“West Ham have always been tough to play against but, look, we were soft. Especially in the Premier League, even if you are winning 2-0, 3-0, you don’t know what will happen in the end.”

Tottenham, who lost a third home game in a row for the first time since 2008, host Newcastle United on Sunday as they seek to pick up their first victory since beating Crystal Palace 2-1 at the end of October.

Well, let's hope he gives him the appropriate backing then. Although, deep down, I think we all know the likely outcome.
And he will retain the support of his more fanatical followers regardless.

I think Postecoglou will get to stay at least until the middle of year three regardless of what his record is. He has been brilliant at creating a brand and image and conveying it to fans.

Ange has been consistent in message. He has always used style of football and success in unison. One leads to the other.

He hasn't changed mate. He's never used the word pretty. Attacking, front foot, relentless press and more in his vocab.

Success and winning is what he emphasises, and so long as he is given a few windows to mould the whole squad into this psyche, then I will back him in.

Ange is ahead of schedule, the system is getting embedded, possible transfer players will be watching thinking I want to be part of that, relax and enjoy the ride.

There you go. Thanks for backing my point up beautifully.

:angehug:

As I said....The ENIC fans are uncomfortable debating the reasons they both failed for the only time in their careers working for Levy (who employed them 😆).....and subsequently called him out for the loser he is.

It's difficult for you guys, I know.
I’m not defending Levy, Moan Thomas.

Both were the wrong fit for our club with their dinosaur pragmatic football, both have had an open cheque book behind their previous PL success and our squad was not of the appropriate quality and it was obvious neither were a long term option to warrant that investment.

It’s the constant revisiting the past and the constant negativity that grinds my gears. Try a positive outlook for once in your life! 😂

for me (as many on here will remember) i want a manager & coaches that can/will change the style/formation to siut who we are playing
I understand Ange's "stick to our style/way of playing to imbed it into the players", but at the monment its inbeding this style = losing games,
critically look back at the results we got before the Chelsea game, (and its the results that matter, as points are important, keep missing chances means you need beter players ) how many were lucky wins ?
do I want Ange ball or Conte/Jose Ball, I like most want Ange ball, But Ange Ball in Scotland where you have most of the leagues best 11 players, & Ange Ball in Oz national team where you have players from many teams in Europe is different from being here,
