<< not neccesarily Centre Halves - but getting more than minutes >>
One thing I'd say - if he was playing in a team of 10 first choice players, then that's fine. But we are missing 5-6 key players ever since October. I'd say it's a really big stretch to expose an 18 yr old in those circs. No easy outball without Madz and the pressing that some PL teams put defences under is insane. It could destroy a young lad's confidence if handled wrongly.

Looks like he will get A LOT of game time at Plymouth. Next season, prob another one at lower PL like Brentford or promotion chasing Chmpo team. Saints, Leeds, Leicester, Ips equivalent.

Early days tho. Don't even know whether he's still growing. At 6'4" that would be a concern.

How and why am I tagged in this ?
When you quote one, then another (post above was yours), but delete the first it often changes the deleted quotes name (second quote) and uses the first deleted posters username.

Noticed it numerous times and had to delete the lot and start again…

Would be a definite contender for a pulled hamstring if playing for us. Centrehalves are not used to running that much.
Certainly looks the part . Should get plenty of games. Hope he does well. We might just shift Ben in the summer if we get a decent bid. Ben would be in demand at a reasonable price.

In theory, if this loan goes well he's prem ready next season.

Question is if we loan to him to a team like Burnley that will develop his distribution or keep him around as the 4th CB...

I'd expect that he is another year or two of loans away from being in the squad as 4th choice - with Romero/VdV/Drag/Davies there's no need to rush it and regular game time in to his early 20s will be much better for everyone in the long run.

We need to "lose" one player for Euro slots next season and as he is not classed as U21 it could well be Phillips. An EPL loan would seem to be a likely option.

Lets see how many overseas trained and HG players are moved on in the summer - it maybe Ange will see him as a first team squad player in which case a squad place may be found, but it maybe Ange wants him to go on a PL loan as you say.

Ashley Phillips should be given a good test in the Leeds v Plymouth 4th Round of FA Cup on Saturday 27 January (KO 15.00) - Leeds in 4th place in Championship firmly in the play offs to get to PL.

Plymouth in 19th place in Championship atm.

Would also be a competition between CB's on loan with Rodon at Leeds and Phillips at Plymouth
