Not sure I've mentioned it before but Lankshear is another one that won't qualify to be on List B for UEFA next season. Similarly to Sarr, he joined after the start of the season so won't have had the 2 years needed at the start of next season to be on list B. Would have to be on HG List A so likely wouldn't be registered. If he was loaned out at the start of the season, he wouldn't be able to be on list B next season either so might make sense to keep him around for the first half of the season and loan him in Jan.
Correction: Lankshear can qualify for UEFA List B next season if he's not loaned out. Club-trained uses 'seasons' whilst List B uses full years. Lankshear will have been at the club for 2 years on 31st August 2024 (just after the window closes) so can be on List B in time for the first Europa group game if he sticks around. If he's loaned out for a season, he will qualify for List B on 31st August 2025 so sending him out on loan not really an issue.

I think who plays 10 and who plays CB will be the interesting ones next season. If Santiago is loaned/sold then imagine Moore plays LW and maybe Donley loaned/kept with first team so attacking mid will possibly be free. Kyerematen could play 10 if Leo Black plays full back and Hall and Abbott are holding but not sure if I can see that. Maybe Hall could play 10, maybe Olusesi moves up to u21s, maybe Ajayi plays there but I think he could start either up top or on the right, depending on who's loaned out.

CB: Dorrington hopefully loaned out if he can get fully fit and probably Baptiste comes up from u18s and then King/Abbott or Ashcroft/Dante next to him if one is kept around.

Could obviously be a new player or two that come in as well. Lot of moving pieces. Sorry this is a bit of a ramble... I tried doing a potential lineup for next season but it had I think 7 of the 11 that started the PL2 final moving on or being loaned and not sure if that's really realistic.

I think that perhaps 11 of this years Academy Year 2 will be in the development squad next season based upon professional contract announcements with only Simons and Krasniqi released plus its likely that Moore and Olusesi will 'play up' with development squad, giving a 'base' u21 squad of about 13 players.

So to give all the players a reasonable chance of playing, I think only 6/7/8 of this years development squad will be in next years development squad with maybe 8/9 loaned out and a handful allowed to move on who are either too old (eg John and Robson already 21) or thought not technically good enough and likely not to develop to that standard. (maybe Andiyapan, Linton, Maguire with Cassanova borderline after recent performances saving him).

I wouldn't rule out Spurs recruiting a couple of external players into development squad either - positionally I think we are short of quality defenders in u18's and u21's so recruitment in those areas might make most sense.

The Released and Retained lists are likely to come out in middle of this month (Luton has already released theirs) which will answer a few questions - and those on the retained lists will either be loaned out or play in u21's next season with maybe one or two joining the first team squad as Club trained or u21 players.

I see that Woolwich have released 17 young players. John-Jules among them who was highly rated at one time . Don’t think we’ll let that many go, or will we?

Personally doubt it, my money would be on 6 - 10 including a couple of u18's who have looked very poor.

Luton, Newcastle and Notts Forest have also named released players, so the only question is whether Spurs wait until all clubs details released by PL mid June or we release details before that

Josh Keeley called up to Ireland u21s for games against Croatia and England. He's been training with the Ireland senior team for the last week.

Probably release Krasniqi and Zach Simons too based on their age. No idea what will happen players like Pele, Herbie James and Egan-Riley who agreed pro-deals as part of them joining, maybe have to offer them out to other academies because they still have about 2 years left.

Krasniqi and Simons will come to the end of their scholarships and Spurs have not offered them another contract, so will leave 30 June : losing 2 or 3 by not offering them a pro contract is not uncommon, in fact we often lose a higher % this way.

Pele is a problem because we have given him a pro contract (not sure how long, hopefully only one year) as a condition of his taking up his scholarship and joining from Luton - however he was injured before starting his scholarship and although recovered seems to be miles off the pace. Worst case is he stays for one year on the payroll. Without a pro contract he's be offski this June, and again still not a high loss % from this year group.

2023/24 Academy Year 1 players James and Egan- Riley joined Spurs from Man City with an offer of a scholarship and pro contract : both seem off the pace and just a poor recruitment decision. Unfortunately in the same year group we have Orr, Adekunle and Adelusi on scholarships without a pro contract but are not at the right level, again seems to be just poor recruitment.

So we have 5 who we would probably prefer not to be on the payroll, and whilst it costs us money, the real issue is that's almost half that year group who are not really available for Spurs u18's. Would be good if we can move some of them on - in practice its difficult to recruit half way through a scholarship so I suspect we will be very reliant on next season's year 1 reinforced by players playing up a year such as Byfield and Williams-Barnett.

Hoping that the recruitment panel start taking CT and list B into better consideration.
