I think a) he had to prove he wasn't biased against Bellingham (after Jude's comments about him being a match-fixer) and b) he's German, so he sees the Dutch national team as the enemy. If we were the Dutch, we'd be raging at the referee. Even with my England bias, he seemed blatantly one-sided. I laughed my arse off when Van Dijk got booked for correctly pointing out that it was a corner kick.
Great fucking ref.
ITS COMING HOME
Doubt it, but I imagine Ollie will get on quicker this time.
My fingers
You've convinced meAnyone who thinks final is a foregone conclusion because Spain play better football is wrong.
Anything can happen in a final. United beat City in a final. Spain would win a league tournament playing this way as they’re the best , most consistent team but in a cup final England have individuals and stay in games.
We will be under fire for a lot of the game. It will be tough as hell. But it’s a winnable football match, this Spain team is good but it isn’t 2010-2012 good where they were inevitably sucking the soul out of teams.
His celebrations (including after his penalty). His general look of petulance. His taking 5 minutes to get up when the ref doesn’t whistle.
He’s got to watch out because tchouameni, Camavinga and Arda guler have all been better than him this tournament and he’s not playing 9 when Mbappé arrives.
He can be a world class, generational player but he has to sort out his attitude.
