This is your opinion and it's fine but to say that Summerville and Fulkrug are better players than him in either position is just laughable, sorry.
Your words, not mine. I specifically said he should be "fighting for his place" and that he is past his prime which I think is a valid argument. I very clearly said, for what the system demands, no he is not a sure bet at LW - that has nothing to do with his overall talent. Like someone else said in response, he is still the best finisher in the league, that's arguable, but that doesn't make him a striker, period. If that's what you think makes for one, then I think you have a juvenile view of the demands of the modern day striker. He never has been one and never will be and he will not be going into next season or we wouldn't be actively looking for a striker. Ange has said this is currently our weakest position ad nauseam - i am more than willing to take the opinion of our manager over a forum poster.

If you want my "personal" opinion on him - i love the guy. I was chuffed he got our first goal in the new stadium because I want sonny's name in any and all club records. If he eventually takes Kane's record I'd be chuffed again but there comes a time where you acknowledge that a player is in decline and shouldn't become a passenger. Sonny is not there yet, but he's unfortunately not getting any better with age and a club in their right mind should be planning for life beyond him which they clearly are doing. At best he should be competing for a starting place instead of being the first name on the team sheet as some of you might have it.

Oh right, you’ll happy when we are spending an unsustainable amount and become better at finding dodgy loopholes. Got it.
Most sustainable club in league versus unsustainable = not remotely the same thing bruv.

In any case nice one - acting high and mighty/holier than thou in defense of ENIC’s bank balance … certainly a different viewpoint.

Go ahead and celebrate ENIC’s profitability (as opposed to our results on the pitch) if that’s what makes you happy. Do you also celebrate that we have the highest paid Chairman in the League?

You literally said those 2 players walk into our starting 11, presumably those players would get in over Son so what's the difference?

title contention is not the goal.

trophies are not the goal.

Financial solvency, above all else, is the goal.
I don’t agree with this. Of course Levy wants trophies, of course he wants the feeling of the CL final in Madrid again. But it’s like that scene in The Untouchables where Costner’s Ness tells Connery he wants to get Capone and he asks him, “What are you prepared to do to get him?” It’s the same with Levy. He wants to pretend at being big club but he’s not prepared to throw it all on the line to get there on the pitch.

or is it the Sowanky Saga?

The reason for pushing the boat outside of the usual sustainable model, is that if done right, it could actually grow the club and make that kind of behavior sustainable. Speculate to accumulate.
City and Chelsea had massive cash injections in the early days to rapidly grow the club. In the intervening years, they just made more money legitimately because of he success the initial spending bought.
