I see much worse on here (misogyny, xenophobia, racism, anti-semitism) that doesn’t get called out, presumably for fear of being labelled woke/lefty etc. Maybe we should be carding these posts rather than jokes in admittedly poor taste.

Heaven forbid Frankie Boyle or Jimmy Carr should join the forum - you’d be carding their every other post.

I don't understand your kind. It's Ok to call someone "cuntish", but use the word dimentia (not joking about or in any context of insulting or belittling people living with that challenge) and you believe it's worth a red card.

It's not a good idea to refer to dementia in a light-hearted way, as part of general forum banter. The scourge of dementia has affected too many of our loved ones for it to be mentioned casually, as you did. I can understand why SpiderSpurs SpiderSpurs got arsey with you. Probably best to try to understand it? There will be quite a few people here who have been unable to prevent a family member from slipping gradually into the hell-hole that is dementia. Times have changed - the word is no longer 'acceptable banter'.

Dementia is the devil. I’ve lost two grans and a papa to it. My mum is in the beginning of it just now and I’ll likely get it but Gazzapen threw a flippant comment out which he never meant anything by it.
Let’s draw a line under this and get back to slaughtering our players 🤣
 
I think maybe Ange has painted himself into a corner by continuing to have Son as captain? If he were to make Romero captain, he could use Son as the impact sub he has become these days.
As long as Son is captain he'll be in the starting line-up, he'll lose the ball regularly and we'll end up conceding breakaway goals - or at least putting ourselves under much more pressure than otherwise.
This 'demotion' might actually help Son too - it must be very disheartening for him to be failing to meet expectations so consistently.

But I read sonny’s comments a few weeks ago and he obviously thinks he’s still at the top of his game as a left winger. I just don’t see it. He’ll continue to have great moments but there’s more mediocre moment than great. He could be a great weapon as an impact sub. Romero is our captain. He leads as does VDV. Those two are our captains for me. VDV is one of our more vocal players and you notice that more when at the games. Cuti leads by his demeanour and aggression. To have two different types of leaders in our back 4 bodes well. We just have to tweak the system to stop these two getting exposed on the counter as much. What we saw yesterday in the second half was better because they are just better players and leaders. Dragusin will grow into that and we are lucky to have those three.

We just get on with it and as anyone who’s been through it will know its stages. She’s still functioning well enough and it’s enjoying life as much as you can while you can. Everytime i forget something which is often I think it’s my turn🙈
It’s probably just because I’ve headed too many balls in my time and been concussed too many times🤣

Tbf the young 'uns put some of the seasoned pros to shame yesterday and some of them have defo earned the chance to be tested in the league over any perceived incoming demanded by the perennials who tend to salivate like Billy Bunter in the tuck shop every time the TW opens.

My favourite moment yesterday came at almost the end of the game when (Lankshear think it was) raced over to flatten a BM player after a couple of them were a tad heavy handed with Mikey Moore, the inevitable handbags followed but it did raise a cheer and mood in a relativity sterile atmosphere.

1 person complaining about X and another person doing Y is not double standards just cos it happened in the same space.

Sure we have people here that denigrate the players in an unwarranted (perhaps similar) fashion, but a) they're not the kind one expects to then call out situs such as the current one and b) some people DO call them out.

You say that people don't (yet should) call things out thru fear of being labeled "woke" and then immediately mock people for essentially being woke.

Forwards lose the ball, that’s going to happen. Thats football. Our atrocious defending and wide-open set up are not down to Son playing. You could have three clones of Messi up front in this system and nothing would change defensively, once you pinch the ball off us you can walk straight up to our goalkeeper no matter who is playing.

I mean Lord Jesus if you think Son is failing to meet expectations with his regular goals and assists I can only imagine what you think of our other forwards.

The solution to our shit defending is to defend properly in an organised and committed way. Not to drop our best player.
