Deserved a ban but 7 games probably slightly excessive.

The way the club dealt with it afterwards was absolutely horrendous and they're lucky that 'joke' about East Asians all looking the same is somewhat accepted by the majority. Had Bentancur directed that at his black mate and the club came out with that shite statement they would have been absolutely destroyed in the media.

It's definitely (wrongly) a more accepted form of racism. But then we had fans on here suggesting that as long as Son accepted the apology that should be enough.
 
Also 1882 1882 I've noticed an odd tendency that is to be actively challenged as you did. I've lived in America and the contrast with our perceived social norms are interesting.

So you often hear English people say "obviously if they were black you wouldn't say that". Context can be anything, so trans rights, antisemitism anti asian. They seem to think this place is some kind of post racial paradise where everyone are fully comfortable with blacks. But it's epically disingenuous hence marauding hoards of men that look like me pulling black people from cars in Stockport mere months ago. And trying to.burn them to death in Hull.

What's happened is London is a very racial integrated place mostly with black people from the Carribean and the Windrush despora this isn't some national truisim. All people of colour from what I see face these hurdles.

Funny thing is, I agree with the idea that Bentancur should receive SOME sort of punishment... (Albeit 7 games does seem harsh) If only to reeducate people that ALL forms of racism are unacceptable...
Whether it's suggesting South Koreans look the same, or singing about Black French players not really being French cos they're too busy running or sleeping with Trans People apparently! Racism is racism...

So the idea that Fernandez might get off scot free from the F.A. BECAUSE he was on International duty is a nonsense...

Is this why Partay is allowed to play on, 'cos what he *ALLEGEDLY* (citation needed) did probably happened in the Summer, or on International duty, so not the FA's responsibility...

Bentancur was ABROAD at the time of the offence, but REPRESENTED an EPL Club, which is why the FA got involved...

But Fernandez was also abroad when his incident happend ... but because he was on International duty it somehow doesn't count...

But tell me, why WAS he on International duty...?

Anything to do with him playing for an ENGLISH PL club, and therefore getting a call up...?

I'm sure in the Argentina squad announcement it says: Enzo Fernandez (Chelsea) or is he independent now??

It smacks of double standards, or just some weird skewed bias which I STILL can't get my head around ...

It's like pregnancy... You can't be a 'little bit racist' when it suits...

So that’s every game in the Uk until Boxing Day? I suppose with the congestion of fixtures the time isn’t actually that long and he’ll get 180 mins vs Roma and Rangers

Given that he was on Uruguay national team duty at the time, why are they not dealing with it (= national team suspension) rather than FA.

His actual offence is a little suspect - his defence of ridiculing the questioner calling Son 'The Korean' may have some validity.

I note The FA have failed to deal at all with a number of Chelsea players over the years accused of racial incidents (Enzo Fernandez recently) or their fans hissing. FA = not fit for purpose
