Player Rodrigo Bentancur

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Same as previous years I believe
1 game ban after 5 yellows in the first 19 games
2 game ban after 10 yellows in the first 32 games
3 game ban after 15 yellows
If the ban is 7 games and starts with City, it would mean his first league game back was our 18th game.
Oh, for some reason I thought there used to be a date when you'd no longer get a ban for 5 yellows - didn't players used to get rested around Christmas specifically for that reason? Perhaps that rule changed long ago, apologies for any confusion. 🙂

Been searching for Enzo Fernandez ban, but the only results I get is him being banned from driving.

Anyone found any info on how long he got for singing that France team song full-throated... you know, the one that HE posted on Instagram?

...and SEVEN times what Enzo Fernandez got
At the risk of being pedantic, Bentancur's punishment is literally INFINITELY greater than Fernández's, seeing as seven times zero is the same as a trillion times zero - zero.

Another element linked to this is how all the other top PL sides have enough weight to pull their key players from international duty yet we never do. Rice, Saka, Palmer all out for this break. Romero could have one leg and we'd still let him fly to Argentina.

It just highlights a general lack of seriousness at the club. I fully agree that it's easy street at Spurs. That was clear to see during the Amazon doc. Really exposed the low standards.
I wouldn't be surprised if permission to play international games was contractually mandated in at least some of our players' contracts (Romero). I also wouldn't be surprised if Levy encourages players to play internationals, hoping to increase their marketing profile and thus their potential resale value.

If you're really trying to be competitive, you pay people to be available for you, not for someone else. It's definitely a less than serious approach to being truly competitive.

Gee can't wait. I'm sure some quiet bribe will fix it for sweet Enzo, as seems typical for the corrupt megarich these days... FIFA- great reputation for integrity lately, especially given the Qatar shit...

This is why so many people have fallen out of love with the beautiful game!

I wonder what Billy Nic would have made of it all!

I posted this in the Ipswich match thread but still sincerely believe it: we should have forbidden players to go based on fitness. If any national FA kicked off we'd send them match video as proof e.g. No way a fit player could play that pathetically

There’s no point complaining about the sanction, he deserved to be punished harshly. What he said was blatantly racist and showed a complete lack of respect for Son as a person. If I said that about a work colleague I would be fired instantly, he’s lucky that elite sport is so detached from reality.

The authorities picking and choosing which incidents to punish, that’s a separate issue.

And the time it took to hand out the punishment.

The interview was recorded in April-May. It aired in June.

Why did it take them to god damn November to hand out a punishment? This should have been done and dusted in early October.

Utter nonsense. Stupid what he said yes, but no malice behind it whatsoever. World gone mad when you have all the vitriol online and nothing being done about it. Priorities completely lost
