Manager Ange Postecoglou

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Anybody who wants to keep him is perfectly entitled to his opinion. That being said, this pestering of people who want him gone to provide any alternatives is disingenious. Only purpose is to take advantage of the fact that most of us here are not football junkies who religiously follow hundreds of team and their managers. The fact that someone can't readily provide a list of successors for Ange doesn't mean that he's irrational in wanting him gone. Besides, even if people do provide names, they're usually met with one-liners like "X got his team relegated", "Y lost a cup final", "Z would never work with Levy" and so on. Since it's impossible to prove a purely hypothetical ("How would X do here if he replaced Ange tomorrow?" ), Ange critics are beaten into submission to no fault of their own.

Again, you're perfectly justified in wanting him to stay. Personally, if the decision was between having 6 months of an interim and keeping Ange, I'd inclined to keep him. But some people think that he sank so below replacement level that anybody half-decent would do better. You don't have to agree, but it's not an irrational stance just because they're not able to name dozens of potential replacements.
That's fine, but Ange Out people should be responsive to the challenge of midseason managerial replacements IN GENERAL.

You don't sack a manager as an act of divine judgment on the merits of that manager, you sack a manager to improve results.

Do people really think another Mason caretaker spell would accomplish that?

Well it's also about the standards we set for ourselves (even during the rebuild). Being in these 3 competitions is the bare minimum for a club of this size in early December. Supposedly 10th richest in the world. Tottenham should be playing in the Champions League every season anyway AND challenge the top four/six at the same time. If we find ourselves mid-season with little more than cup runs to cling to, is this is an amazing season in making?
A club with our revenue should be challenging to win the prem and track QFs of CL every year, young players or not z

Someone just needs to tell Levy that because he’s more interested in cutting wages to revenue to the lowest in the league

It is quite entertaining football

Yes it will. I don't need to name names but there are coaches who can actually coach. The only way it wont get better is if Levy either does nothing or manages to ccompletely fuck it up again.
He got this one wrong. Any mildly competent coach will do better.

I mean, it was him that was going after Cucurella when he slipped,he then took the ball and assisted for Solanke. That sort of thing is fairly common place.

Maybe it's like the anti-BMW drivers who swear blind no BMW indicates ever and it's only BMW's. That's nothing like reality, but they will only ever actively notice what they want to see. IE, that 1 out of 25 BMW's that didn't indicate whilst ignoring the myriad of other brands that also didn't.

He definitely closes down up the pitch, but that’s 50% of his job and I can’t criticise him for that.

The thing that tells me you’re right and it is part of the plan is that Porro never bollocks him for not coming back and help. Mind you he had to close his social media the other day for a little bit of abuse so probably has a similar size pair of balls on him as Johnson possesses and wouldn’t dare complain!

I'm sure a few positive results will bring the feel good factor back again. Do remember though under poch when he started we had some poor results first three months. Newcastle 2-1 loss and then we were losing away to Villa. Think Poch said in his book he said to his staff at Villa 1 nil down before he put Kane on he was going to lose his job. We won then got in our stride and never looked back. Ange has had 18 months so comparisons are hes behind schedule and needs to turn it round fast.
Not for me! Its about this fools unsustainable/dysfunctional approach and philosophy to the game that will never see us produce enough wins to achieve anything on a regular basis imo.

’m actually 100% Ange IN. I think he’s out of his depth, clueless tactically and has a poor eye for a player. But make no mistake this is all on the bald midget and if it means months of pain for this very passive fan base to wake up and finally turn against levy I’m all for it! 👍

he's a dumb and selfish manager so that's really no surprise.

The caveat is that he's just said this is the worst injury crisis he's ever seen in his career and it's not even the worst one I can remember at Spurs this decade.

This drama shit happens to every manager and we have seen all of them do weird stuff with players. I'm not looking for excuses here but if the medical team clear the player to play, the manager only has that information to go with. He isn't qualified to override the medical team.

Most of the fanbase especially here have woken up. How do you force Levy out? Do you have a spare £4bn burning a hole in your pocket? Because that’s they only way he goes this side of a coffin. Which is easily 20+ years away.

Keeping an inept manager that’s out of his depth to prove some sort of point to a bald cunt that doesn’t care only ruins the prospects of the club and any potential success this season.

Right now the most important game is next Thursday, against United. If we lose tomorrow we can still salvage passage in Europa, but would you have confidence Ange will get us over the line in the cup?

Teams have had way worse injury crises' - he's just being a fucking drama queen.

It's bad but then he has had a bad record of players getting injuries at former clubs, couple that with the demands of premier league football (something he will NEVER have seen the like of before, the number/intensity of games in say Scotland is so much lower) and hey presto, everyone's dropping like flies.

That and obviously the squad was poorly equipped in the transfer market by a board who decided that most of the budget should go on children. So you have a perfect storm.

Not really, Ali G asked him: "Is this the worst injury crisis you've seen in your career". He said yes.

He could have said no but if it is, then it is.

tbh we have GK, x3 CBs, Bentancur suspended, x4 forward players and now Bissouma suspended for yellow cards. It's pretty epic.

What is his injury record like at other clubs?

Fully agree on the squad being poorly equipped.

There will be buyers. Know for a fact Boehly and Clearlake had a deal done 3 times before they bought Chelsea because the bald midget moved the goal posts too many times. Make no mistake there will be plenty interested in spurs. We need to put the pressure on.

If that’s true, this could cost him his job tbh.

Micky went from not rushing back to rushing back for a game against Chelsea where you know you will get fucked over whatever you do.

Risking VDVs hammys for that nonsense was a dumb, selfish decision imo

The decision whether they are fit to play or not isn’t going to rely solely on the manager though.

It would involve both the medical team and the players themselves, so I can’t see how you can say this is going to cost him his job, unless he’s directly gone against the advice given on their fitness and ability to play.

It's going to cost him his job in that we're now fucked defensively for longer meaning we're going to struggle to pick up the wins he needs to keep his job. I imagine that's what he means.
