whatever happened to wanting players who really want to join and be a part of the project? this chase for a kid who doesn't really want to leave, and really doesn't want to play for a English club that isn't Man U or Arse seems odd

I think Garnacho is absolute shite anyway tbh, fuck knows how he got included in the golden boy voting last season, just goes to show what a popularity contest it is. There are a million Garnacho's across Europe which is to say pacey wingers with 1 or 2 tricks who have absolutely zero end product, felt safest whenever he has the ball in their attack whenever we've played United.

None of them were high profile signings bar maybe Romero, Porro and Madisson. Romero joined a while back. Could we convince a player of his calibre right now? I doubt it.

Ok so none of them except 1/3rd of them - plus I believe we convinced VDV over going to other clubs too.

We just convinced Solanke too, who in a extremely difficult strikers market would have had a number of suitors if he pushed for a move,

Other clubs probably want Man U to pick up part of these players wages because they’ve put them on such high wages and Ratcliffe isn’t having any of it. We only have to look at all the cost cuttings he’s put in place to even the cleaning ladies, he ain’t going to pay part of the wages of a player who isn’t at the club. He’ll ask Amorim to reintegrate, which sounds like, from the manager’s words this week, is happening.

Levy to Tel
There's no update on Tel is there?

Think that bicycle kick got him in the conversation and his ratings as a player before really playing much men's football. He is young though so could come good. I think upstairs is his problem, his decisions making looks miles off and it's not like he hasn't played enough football for it to be much better by now.

Yup.

So even if Tel maybe does want a loan, UTD can't do one unless something radical changes with UTD and it doesn't look like it will.

This revisionism is absolutely mental!!!

I’m not going to clog up the transfer thread but the disrespect to Robbie Keane here is outrageous
I'm not revising anything. I wasn't bothered he went and was bothered we wasted £12m bringing him back.

What you thought at the time is your business. My feelings were that, without Berbatov, he was never going to be anywhere near as effective. And he wasn't.

United are already ruining Yoro. Don’t ruin Tel as well. Along with Barcola and Doué they are the next wave of potential world class players breaking into the France team.

United is where talent goes to die.

Look at the clubs they joined from. Maddison came form relegated Leicester. Porro Sporting. Neither were pulling up trees.

Romero came from Atalanta when he was just a highly promising 21 year old. What Romero needed was to play week in, week out for a club in the top 4 of EPL or La Liga, and play in the CL, which he has done for us. He would not have played regularly at Liverpool , Bayern, Barcelona etc. But he has always been destined for someone like Real Madrid by the time he is 26/27.

We are a proven to be a great stepping stone club for the best young players with massive potential.
  1. Modric (left us at 25, then won 28 major trophies, inc six CLs, 6 Club World Cups, 5 European Super Cups, 4 LaLiga titles, 2 Copas del Rey and 5 Spanish Super Cups.
  2. Walker (left us at 26, then won 17 major trophies, inc. six PL titles and the CL)
  3. Bale (left us at 24, then won 19 major trophies , inc. five CLs and 3 La Liga titles)
  4. Carrick (left us at 25, then won 9 major trophies inc. five PLs, the CL, the EL and multiple FA cups)
  5. Berbatov (left us at 27, then won 2 PL titles, and the league cup)

I bet Kane wishes he'd left us when he was 26/27 as well with hindsight.

Tel should be thinking he can join us for 2-3 seasons and then get a mega move to a club that actually wins titles.

I'm ahead of the curve, I've not rated him for a while now. When he doesn't come every one will join me

He’s got the attributes to be the next Isak but it’s a concern that his goals/assists at Bayern aren’t great especially when he’s surrounded by superstars. €60m is a hell of a lot of money for a talent that has yet to showcase his talents on a consistent basis.

The same can be said about Dibling. It looks like the going rate is £50m for raw talent these days. It’s a massive outlay and a high risk strategy for players who may or may not make it, especially for raw talent.

He's a good dribbler, I'll give him that, but he runs into blind alleys constantly, can't especially cross, can't shoot, not much physical presence to compete with oppo fullbacks when space is tight.

The worst thing about buying him for any manager would be having to look at him in training every day though, what an ugly fucker he is, looks like skin stretched directly over a skull with dodgy eyebrows glued on.
