Match The Bodø Affair: The Mighty Tottenham vs Bodø/Glimt of Nordland - 2000hrs 1st May 2025 - UEFA Europa League Semi Final Leg 1

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Yeah I like Kia. I have a Kia Stinger GT, 3.3 litre V6 twin turbo petrol. It’s a bit nuts and totally impractical, but I love it.
Our daily is a Genesis EV, they're built under Hyundai/Kia.
Fucking thing broke down at 9pm in Brighton 2 weeks ago. Got home on a flatbed at 3.30am
15 months old / 9k miles.
Turns out literally every Hyundai group EV is doing so and the part that's failing is in short supply. I'm not best pleased.
Then again, we've had a 2025 Merc GLE 450d as a hire car since, which is way better :roflmao:

He's not an elite manager, he's nowhere near good enough to manage at the top level like the premier league.
But he's right here. It was always going to happen. If United win it, nobody would be saying this. It would be the start of a new era, blah blah blah.
We win it, and the media will spend hours, days, weeks, working on articles that diminish it.

That said, I'm on the fence as to whether it's a big deal or not.
If it's us v United in the final that's two of the premiere leagues bottom 6 teams in a "prestigious" European final.
That's actually ridiculous and a sad indication of the actual poor quality in this competition.

Isn't it more an indication of how average the PL is full stop?

I think fae better for Postevoglou to concentrate on the job ar hand.

It's not just because it's us and why would we be more worthy if we were sitting 7th fir example??

Imo it shows how much further ahead of the Europa League pack the PL is, that the first 2 two PL teams can actually be bothered they (potentially) end up in the final despite their domestic form being abysmal.

European comps are supposed to be for every leagues best teams. Not bottom 6 fodder.

I feel as though I'm being presumptuous here though, for all I know, it could be Bodo Vs Bilbao

I completely disagree.

Neither us or United have been that good. It's simply a function of how much money the PL has at its disposal..

The PL is very mediocre in my opinion..

Have you ever noticed how foreigners get narky when we don't pronounce their words their way, but flat out refuse to pronounce our words our way?
I had a French French teacher at school. She kept nagging at me to say words in a French accent. I pointed out numerous times my name is Matt, or Matthew, not Mattiue so stfu. If I wanna say "pally view onglay" I will
(Pas le vu Englais)

I would if we were actually unlucky and we genuinely missed sitters and were really the better side.
There's not many games in this era of Spurs I can think of where that's true though.
Try spending some time in the states...they pronounce Notre Dame , noter dayme...Melanzane is moulinjon...and so and so on ad nausem with absolutely no nod towards the correct pronunciation...

If 2 teams in the lower reaches of the PL get to the final it is more an indication of the poor quality of the other, major leagues. No Italian, French & German team got there and only 1 Spanish. Shows the strength of the PL.

hearing them pronounce "Worcestershire sauce" is hysterical (War sester shier sause)

mind you - how many people would pronounce the name "Featherstonehaugh" - Fanshaw?

another mistake they make in America is pronouncing the name "Donald Trump"

which as the rest of the world know as " Fat useless bag of piss and wind"

I’ve been looking at Genesis because they still make a nice saloon based on the Stinger, which Kia have stopped making. I’m trying to avoid EVs for as long as possible though. I prefer petrol.

I have a seven seater Nissan Qashqai.

In silver.

Few shots in a crowded box, straight at the keeper as there's nowhere else to aim and they're all like "we were all over them"

And they were fine with that. Like a boxer who knows your punches are weak.
Also totally neglecting to acknowledge that in these same games we gift up more than a handful of glorious opportunities to often mediocre sides.

It's actually beyond belief, I sometimes wonder if I'm watching the same shit!

James Maddison on ' How big a game is this for you and the team?'

''It's huge.

When you get to the end of your career and look back, there's probably not many times any player's been in a European semi-final. Maybe once, twice, a few times if you're lucky, if you're at the real big clubs.

We have to use that that we're in the final four of a massive competition in Europe and use that as motivation to have a great tie on Thursday and away in Bodo the following Thursday. Because we've got a really special opportunity.

There's obviously been a lot of talk about the form and it being quite a poor season but we still have the opportunity to do something very special. But we're in the last four of a European competition but you've earned that, you don't just get placed there.

We deserve to be here so it's a challenge we're going to relish. It starts on Thursday night.''
