I'm genuinely scared. I think with the fan support and noise from the media now they will be too scared to get rid of him whilst he's on a high - it was always my biggest fear.

This club now faces its Ten Haag moment - do we stick due to a cup win or do we make the correct, sensible decision and base it on the quality of coaching.

No offence mate but your agenda is boring, I've been a long time lurker of this forum and i've decided to sign up and post tonight solely because I'm sick of you stinking up this thread with your arrogant negativity.

You don't rate the Europa league and you never have, you've been downplaying our European run for months in this thread and I'm convinced you haven't even celebrated our greatest night in 17 years because all of your posts have been about how we only faced rubbish opposition.

The fact is Ange has won a major European trophy and in 40 years time nobody will give a damn that we finished `17th in the league, he won us our first trophy in 17 years and our first European trophy in 41 years, all the years of mockery from our rivals ended as soon as we lifted that trophy. That achievement of winning a trophy and securing champions league football + bragging rights over our rivals is superior to securing champions league football and winning no trophies.

There are also 2 mitigating circumstances that you refuse to acknowledge. The first is how many managers would recover from losing one of the best players of all time (Kane) in their first season of managing the club, a player that our whole club had been built around, not to mention losing an inform Son .. not many managers would recover from this. Can you imagine Poch Conte and Mourinho without Kane?

Secondly.. October to December we were decimated with injuries and from January to may Ange clearly calculated that winning the league was out of the equation and we needed to win a trophy so he put all his eggs into the European basket and the players clearly bought into that vision as well. They took a risk and it paid off massively but this whole lost 21 games nonsense doesn't even take into account that simple fact that the players didn't give a damn about winning a few pointless premier league games when the European trophy was there to be captured.
I refuse to hold that decision against the gaffer because it paid off.. He deserves the chance to bring in quality players and build a legacy, he is the man to take us forward and I fully believe that. I don't like the fact that you and other posters on here almost bully people who dare to hold this opinion.

I was ange in much longer than most (until about January) but since then I’ve been ange out regardless of our Europa performance barring a drastic turnaround. And this win wasn’t enough to make me reconsider considering we didn’t exactly dominate average sides in Europe and the league form was unforgivable.

Winning 3 two legged ties and a final is an achievement but a small sample size compared to the disastrous league campaign. We aren’t even remotely competitive in the league and I can’t see that changing next season. Even if we are healthier, I can’t see a top 6 finish while we are in the CL.

I’m probably a bit different than most in that a cup in this dreadful season doesn’t feel like our biggest achievement in 17 years. I follow the club to get enjoyment from watching them and I rarely enjoyed watching them this season, almost not at all since January. I enjoyed poch teams far more, even if we didn’t win anything. Cups are just a crapshoot.

Credit to ange and I think many of you were out of line calling him a fat cunt all the time but I don’t have faith he can make this a consistent top club.

Please, if Shaw doesn't score an OG there's no way in the world we were scoring yesterday. We didn't even put a shot on target. No one who watched that match ever saw a scoring threat from us. The players won the match, they won by digging in and refusing to allow a goal. Jose was smiling watching that.

We won precisely because we abandoned Angeball. We won by gritty defending, by doing the opposite of what he's going to come back and try to do, his system that works only if you're Celtic playing men against boys. His system is dogshit, it's the reason we are in 17th, and yes - basic competent football managers like those managing the clubs who are ABOVE US that you are binning, having far less resources than we do and still being miles above, those managers would be likely to improve our fortunes immediately and dramatically.

Tournament football, especially the final is very different to league football. I believe the last 5 Champions League finals for instance finished 1-0.

Ange was clear in his post-match interview, he felt with the players he had available, 1 goal would be enough. Had we not scored in the 40th minute; we of course would not have parked the bus and would have continued to attack. We had Tel, Odobert (unused) and Son on the bench if we need more attacking threat and pace.

Ange has won everywhere he has been, at every level. Club and Country. From Pub league to Europe. He knows precisely how to build a winning team, how to get the dressing room united and how to build belief. You can't do that by playing 1 style of football - you need to adapt, and he has done that every time.

We are all disappointed by the league results - and as I have said before, as an offer of good faith the club ought to give a discount to existing season ticket holders for next season. But it was a necessary sacrifice to get us to this moment.

Spurs now have a trophy and are back in the Champions League - and that is 100% down to the decisions and handwork of Ange, the coaching staff and the players - and the keyboard warriors who questioned the path we took can now eat some humble pie.

In the next 5 years, Ange will win the EPL and the Champions League. I guarantee it. Hopefully he will do that with Spurs, and not City.

‘Continued to attack’ yeah mate it was absolute constant pressure till we scored. It definitely wasn’t two limp, nervous teams waiting to see who shit the bed first. It was them, partly because of the bizarre choice to play a left centre back who has played a handful of times all season.

Oh spare me this nonsense. He knows how to build a winning team? We were 17th. He didn’t ’build’ shit anymore than Amorim did. This nonsense narrative is a joke .. the margins were so narrow here. Neither of these coaches have done a good job yet one is meant to be a hero and the other is offering his resignation.

No it fucking wasn’t necessary. Being 17th is not a necessary sacrifice for Spurs to beat Alkmaar, Bodo and Frankfurt. Their wage budgets combined wouldn’t come close to half ours. These narratives again are factually false and insane. The idea that this was some thought out trade off instead of us just being good enough to beat these teams but not good enough to beat most premier league sides.

This is the reality. The reality you don’t want to accept. We defeated Manchester United numerous times domestically. One of the few sides we can say that of. Why? They’re shit. They’re right down in the muck and crisis with us. We are marginally less shit. That’s why we lifted this trophy.

Shut the fuck up. Humble pie. Honestly never encountered stupidity like it. Questioned the path? He’s not a religious movement, he’s a fucking coach. And the coaching has been terrible. You want to cling on to this like a life raft.

City wouldn’t touch this cunt with a ten foot bargepole. Not in a million years. He wouldn’t even make the bottom dregs of their back-up shortlist. Not even if he offered to coach them for free. Glasner won this cup and ended up at Palace, that should show you how it’s viewed in the sport. Juande Ramos won it twice, go fucking figure..

This cup was an amazing moment. Huge for the club to get over its mental block. So good to get CL qualification. An incredible night. But some absolute wankers on here want to manipulate the facts and reality of this match and this season in order to keep a completely out of his depth coach here and ruin the whole thing. They want to build it up as some incredible against the odds cup run against Europe’s best and portray the league form as just a mild inconvenience.

Fuck right off.

I want whatever shit your on !

What message does it send to future candidates that you sack even after winning a European cup after 40years?

Let him stay. Let him build on this and prioritise league position next year.

A world class manager isnt going to trust a 5year contract put infront of him.

‘Continued to attack’ yeah mate it was absolute constant pressure till we scored.

You're upset when he plays attacking football because it leaves us exposed at the back - and then your upset when he takes a more conservative approach.

The goal we scored came straight from the training ground. The movement, the decoy runs, the final ball timed perfectly with Johnsons run.

Oh spare me this nonsense. He knows how to build a winning team? We were 17th. He didn’t ’build’ shit anymore than Amorim did.

Yes. He's knows how to build a winning team. WE WON. Everywhere he's been, he wins. He was quite clear in his interview - he decided in Feb to go all out in the cups and sacrifice the league.

No it fucking wasn’t necessary. Being 17th is not a necessary sacrifice for Spurs to beat Alkmaar, Bodo and Frankfurt. Their wage budgets combined wouldn’t come close to half ours.

We didn't have the squad to compete in all comps due in part to injuries - but also having many young and inexperienced players.

We should not have come 17th - but that is a reflection on the ability and experience of our 'reserve' players. Our young players have had some valuable game time - Odobert, Bergvall, Gray, Spence, Tel (if staying) will all be better next season because of that. This is a 4 year rebuild - first a trophy, next comes consistency, then comes dominance.
