Tournament football, especially the final is very different to league football. I believe the last 5 Champions League finals for instance finished 1-0.
Ange was clear in his post-match interview, he felt with the players he had available, 1 goal would be enough. Had we not scored in the 40th minute; we of course would not have parked the bus and would have continued to attack. We had Tel, Odobert (unused) and Son on the bench if we need more attacking threat and pace.
Ange has won everywhere he has been, at every level. Club and Country. From Pub league to Europe. He knows precisely how to build a winning team, how to get the dressing room united and how to build belief. You can't do that by playing 1 style of football - you need to adapt, and he has done that every time.
We are all disappointed by the league results - and as I have said before, as an offer of good faith the club ought to give a discount to existing season ticket holders for next season. But it was a necessary sacrifice to get us to this moment.
Spurs now have a trophy and are back in the Champions League - and that is 100% down to the decisions and handwork of Ange, the coaching staff and the players - and the keyboard warriors who questioned the path we took can now eat some humble pie.
In the next 5 years, Ange will win the EPL and the Champions League. I guarantee it. Hopefully he will do that with Spurs, and not City.
