I think we're quite far away from breaching PSR limits.Getting a big fee for Romero is a gift horse we should not look in the mouth.
You have to generate big sales in PSR-world, no matter how petro-doped you are, it's the same for everybody.

Shoutout to the all-time classic in this genreHahahaha the classic foreign player wants out trick of mentioning how shit the weather is. Love it.
Danso is his replacement. Job done.IMO if he wants out we just have to take what we can get, if we sell him at the end of the window there might not be time to get a replacement. If we don't sell him this summer or in January his value will be much less the following season when his contract is in its last year.
We paid about £23m for Aurier and he left for free, we also lost £14m on Matt Doherty after he left for free too. we terminated both contracts early.
So that's £37m out the door right there. So what if we do lose say £20m by not getting what we want for Romero?
We made money on other players over the years. We made £20m on Modric. and the same for Berbatov.
No link or reference to where the quote comes from. This has to be a poor translation right? A professional footballer can't be this thick!

This is exactly how some footballers are. This has to be a poor translation right? A professional footballer can't be this thick!
That's fine, if that's the case but we still need to sell Romero if he wants out, soon enough so we can use his transfer fee for or towards a player in a different position.
We have eventually replaced Kane's position as main striker with Solanke, a year after Kane left, So that was a case of not buying before we sell. That's why you buy his replacement before you sell, that's what we ought to be doing that way we are no left high and dry.
If Atletico want him that much they will eventually stump up the cash to buy him.
Letting players leave less than their value just because they don't want to sign a contract and there are other clubs interested in them sets a bad precedent...it's the same reason why we held out for more money from Bayern when they wanted Kane and they eventually bit.

Another example is waiting a year to replace Modric with Eriksen, so again not buying before we sell. In fact ''sell before we buy'' may as well be Levy's motto.
Unless Romero's replacement is already Danso? I think we got Danso because Dragusin was injured for the rest of the season, Reportedly Levy wants Romero to stay even with Danso already in position, and has hoped CL qualification will induce Romero to remain at the club.
That was really what I meant, I don't think Levy or whoever should try and persuade Romero to stay if he already wants to leave, it could end up a disaster.
According to something I read on a Sky Sports webape, Atletico are willing to pay £38m for Romero, that's only £4m less tha we paid, and he's been proven to be quite injury prone. That's fine but we can't be out here accepting measly bids if he wants to leave, regardless of all of this his contract runs out in 2027, if he does t sign now we have a year to sell him (albeit it at a lower price)

The record only goes up until last December so there's probably more to add on.
Do you think this removes any value?

''If you are counting the Copa America in the summer then Romero has appeared in 10 Argentina matches since June last year, almost as many as the 14 competitive games he has played for Spurs since then, plus one substitute appearance in the summer friendly against Bayern before the start of the season.
In total, since joining in 2021, Romero has played in 112 matches for the north London club and, according to Transfermarkt, has been unavailable for 60 matches through injury and another six through suspension.''

Cristian Romero and the Argentina decision that will feel familiar at Tottenham
The Tottenham Hotspur centre-back is nearing a return to fitness and his international situation will have a familiar feel after previous injurieswww.football.london
Was going to say this too. What’s the context? Maybe mid-interview, after talking about how much he loves Tottenham, he was asked how his family has adapted to England. Or did he decide to put this out there on social media specifically to send a message? Can’t be sure without a source. Which is why social media can be so toxicNo link or reference to where the quote comes from.
I had a brief gander and can't see anything on Spanish sites, they're normally all over stuff like this.
It's likely his transfer fee will be used to service net transfer debt currently standing at 230m with 80m of that due this summer. That's fine, if that's the case but we still need to sell Romero if he wants out, soon enough so we can use his transfer fee for or towards a player in a different position.
Maybe you're right but it's going to give potential buying clubs a means to lower their bids because he's been unavailable so often. If we replaced him with a less injury prone player we might not need both Dragusin and Danso as back ups, so could sell one of those.Maybe, not by much though...i think you have a to look at the fact that this club is shit with injuries and a load of other players suffered long term injuries as well, so it's probably more of a symptom of the club than the player.
He went away to Argentina to get himself sorted, doubt that happens again if he moves elsewhere.
