I've posted too much in this thread about a bloke that I no longer give a rat's ass about, so now I'm off to pop my blister.

But 2 years ago you said...
And now since we've won a trophy you're saying the complete opposite![]()

I like the footballing part of winning a trophy when it's well played, I don't much like a trophy at the end of a shitty season such as the one last year, it reminds me of 22 loses and an awful match against a very shitty Manchester United team. IMO there's nothing to like about that, even if it has gained a trophy and ticked a box in the actually point of football.
Is there something in that which is difficult to understand for you? If so ask a supplementary question and I'm happy to answer but I don't want to continue arguing about Postecoglou. I don't mind a discussion about how the trophy reminds me of an awful season, rather than a great one.
One last thing, you do know two things can be true right?
Well I suppose I'd reword that as I'd enjoy watching a great football match over a crap one, regardless if the players are going to be seen lifting a trophy and celebrating on a bus. Of course though my preference would be a great cup win after a good season like one of the ones under Burkenshaw when we came 4th and won the FA Cup, handsomely. That's the sort of trophy that I can think about and have good memories about.I guess you prioritize a respectable result in the League more than a cup win?
Once again, if you are competing at the the top end of the stick, with a good squad, you are more likely to win things.Funnily enough there was an article on the BBC website recently that asked that exact question:
Survival or FA Cup glory - which would you choose?
Pretty much every Wigan fan they spoke too (and loads more in the comments section below) said the same thing: they wouldn't dream of swapping the FA Cup for staying in the Premier League.
I must admit I think I would feel the same. Maybe not for the FA Cup, but I would have been perfectly happy getting relegated this season if we'd manage to win the Champions League as well.
The game's supposed to be about glory isn't it? There's not much glory in being perpetual also-rans.
Well hindsight is a wonderful thing and all that but Wigan are hanging around the bottom half of league one now, They have a fond memory of winning an FA Cup. A moment of glory in the club's history.Funnily enough there was an article on the BBC website recently that asked that exact question:

Is there a prize for being the 5000th poster on the thread?I have this nagging feeling the thread will do a Bradman and be locked at 4999 pages.
I don't have anyone on ignore.
I already know that you don't like being wrong, you don't need to reiterate.

If temporary managers are excluded yes.Frank's overall winning percentage is a whopping 34.2%. Which, apparently is the worst of any permanent Spurs manager.
The irony and lack of self awareness in that post is astounding. It comes as no shock to the forum that you typically just regurgitate bullshit depending on what side of the argument you want to sit on, so there's that.
"Winning Trophies is all that matters UNLESS it's won by a manager I don't like" perfectly sums up the Deranger mindset![]()
