Probably comes down to whether he's willing to sign a new deal. He has 2 years left on his contract - that's usually the sweet spot for a sale. After that the player has control - can threaten to leave for a free or we might get a crap deal. We've been terrible at selling for ages and need to get better at letting go of players when they still have value. And while Porro can be decent, I don't think he's indispensable or irreplaceable by any means.
Also depends on De Zerbi I guess - does he see him as a key part of the project? If so, can he sell him a dream and get him to re-sign?
I wont argue with that, if he wants to go/doesnt want to extend then we are obliged to get the best deal we can now.
For me, Id like him to stay.
And I dont think Spence is first choice material, so if Porro leaves Id want some real quality brought in
