Transfers Summer 2026 Transfer Thread

Never change Spurs ffs

Firstly, let's see confirmation in writing, but equally if this is all happening with De Zerbi's agreement, it's slightly less of a concern.

Much depends on the wider thinking which at the present time seems quite unclear.

But Ventkatesham has no authority in the transfer market, and it won't be too long before we start to hear mutterings off discontent if the best we do is announce contract extensions..

But context, so far no team has signed anyone.

Mate we have just (seemingly although I won’t hold me breath just yet) signed two new left sided defenders in Senesi and Robertson. There is more than enough cover there now. We don’t need to be keeping the likes of Davies around clogging up a squad spot.
Imo we need a full 25 man squad which consists of:

3 Goalkeepers
9 Defenders
5 central midfielders
8 Forwards

The 9 defenders should consist of 4 CB's, 4 FBS and 1 hybrid that can play both CB and FB

Ideally the hybrid would be a player that can play CB and RB as Spence and VDV can both play LB but we are not going to get a player like that that will accept not even being in the squad most weeks.

VDV, Vuskovic, Senesi, Danso
Robertson, Udogie
Porro, Spence

With Davies as the 9th option.

Then why are we signing him to a player contract? Sponsor his coaching badges and have him go do that instead. I fully agree he's a person we want at the club, but not with boots on, not for years now.
This I agree with.
I love gentle Ben but surely he's never going to play for us again, so why not get him doing his badges and helping out in the academy?
Fuck, he can still come along to games if he wants and sit behind the bench or with the coaches but I really don't think he should be putting his boots on again for us.

Have a feeling with iraola joining Liverpool he might want senesi and possibly keep Robertson.
Six months before a player's current contract expires, that player is eligible to sign a pre-contract agreement with a different club binding them to that new club once their current contract expires. So Spurs can have signed both Senesi & Robertson to such a binding pre-contract.
I understood that Fabrizio's "here we go" regarding those 2 players meant they've both signed for Spurs (but I may be wrong).

We don't have any youth level players that can take the spot you have for Davies?

My only fall back on all this is that I trust RDZ.

We will have to see how it all pans out but if RDZ wants to keep Davies and sign palhinha then I will go with it.

Every single team he has ever managed has played fantastic football from tiny sassuolo, to shakhtar, brighton and Marseille.
He also know the top level of football well and is a true disciple of the game.

We have to believe that he see's things clearly as he is not a soft touch, he is cold blooded and wont keep people around just because they are nice.

In the end I believe it will all make sense, the club have to make it so otherwise our manage that they will know everybody has bought into will walk.

This is getting absurd. I had a horrible feeling we'd over correct with a load of veterans/leaders. Unless the Robertson deal is off where would he even play?
That basically told us in the statements last week they thought the problem is a lack of experience. And who’d have thunk it, signing a load of old has beens is a lot cheaper than admitting the problem is a lack of quality and signing some of that.
