Fair enough

The sales volumes would likely be the hardest to achieve

Robertson and Senesi are already done. Savinho they’ve been working on for a year now.

The problem is that volume is pretty much what’s needed. Of the names in my list, MGW is probably the one we could get by without easiest because Maddison is fit and Gallagher at the 10 makes us much more difficult to beat. Those 2 mean it’s not a massive rush to hurry Simons back and if we signed Akliouche, he can also cover 10.

So it becomes

GK
RCB
Senesi
Robertson
senior #6 playmaker
senior #8
RW
LW
CF

Pretty sure we’re all agreed that’s really the urgent stuff that needs to get done

yup lots of technical holes in that midfield, but i think Sarr will go this summer, along with Bissouma so we have to replace them with something more fitting for RDZ's football.

Gallagher one of the hero's of the relegation scrap, imo. We have the ultimate presser in him now so we just need to give him team mates that support his hard work through progression and creativity with the ball.
We can’t have any passengers or black holes in possession anymore . I’ve got zero tolerance for it.

It should be treated the same as work-rate/pressing/defensive contribution.

And this...

Don't wanna sound all Savile-y, but fuck me, Xavi was a good looking kid!

I’m already disappointed. We finished 17th.

Levy told us that we want to win the premier league and champions league. Our biggest rivals just won the PL and reached the CL final.

Anything less than the kind of effort I’ve just posted there should be met with mass fan protests IMO
Whilst I agree that kind of squad surgery is required, it’s just not feasible in one window.

That kind of rebuild probably takes three windows minimum, maybe more.

That kind of money won’t be available for a start just this summer.

He’s the one who had a pretty substantial injury last summer isn’t he? Recovered well?
He's a brilliant player technically, so wasn't effected much by the ankle issues. Misses 1-7 games a season through injuries over the last 4/5 seasons, so not much of a concern at this stage... until the inevitable happens with us!

Just made the German WC squad, so there will be other suitors if he gets game time.

Agreed.

Assuming we do have Robbo, Senesi and JP ... then from here signing a LW, a no9 and a MF would be a very good window as long as all three are genuine top players.

For me that is about the most we can hope for. And I think that is also a good amount of change to integrate.

We would have 4 changes to the starting 11 with that (assuming Vuskovic is a starter).

re the MF ... the issue is we actually don't have any elite MF players, though have some very specialised guys (JP, CG). I think we should probably try and sign one elite player and you can probably make more of an argument for either an 8 or a 6 than for a 10 given we have Madders, and will then have Xavi back in the NY, that Kudus and (if he ever returns) Kulu and even CG can all play there.

We sell Bissouma and Sarr, and keep Bergvall and Gray for the club trained thing in 27-28. That season will be make or break for both of those players.
