I cannot believe some of you are turning your nose up at Van Hecke because "he might block Vuskovics path". Did we watch the same team last season? We need quality all over the pitch. You all probably had the same concerns about Gray, Bergvall, Odobert, Tel pathways being blocked and look how that turned out for us.

We need to manage young talent like Vuskovic better than we did with those players because we made a mess of the time they've been here over the last 2 years.

It's exactly the same as people going OTT about signing Gray and Bergvall two years ago and putting them in there first 11, two years later both have barely made an impact and can't hold down a regular starting spot.

We just escaped relegation on the last day and fans are back to wanting unproven kids put into the team, they never learn.

Phillips bossed it last year, hes a first team player, high quality in CHampionship standards, probably able to go to a lower Prem team

If we arent going to play him (we arent) he should be sold, and left to get on with his career

(with a cheeky sell on clause maybe...)

I think he can carve out a career similar to rodon. Playing first team lower to mid PL. Not right now but I think thats his potential.

Right now he should be worth what? 10m?

I don’t have issues buying for the defence. Senesi, Van Hecker, Robertson are good players. The issue is in the past we have always been limited with what we can buy and therefore have to prioritise.

It’s far more vital IMO to get a top draw midfielders like Scott and Gibbs White, a good winger like Savinho and a good striker. That is probably £200m on its own on top of this purchase.

Otherwise we are going to be crazy loopsided next season with a RollsRoyce backline and Skoda (pre-Volkswagen) front line.

100% spot on!

Could make alterations do defense for sure and it is fine.
Though the biggest gaping holes in the side (in that order for me) were - very good ball progressing CM - sharp and productive LW - good CF able to score goals and keep the ball upfield.

And just like you - I worry too that with much investment going into backline we might not address those issues sufficiently.

I am interested in what RDZ will make of them, there is potential he decides to really specialise one of them and give them a shot

Something like that, depending on any sell on clauses etc

Quick google says we paid £2m, a few years ago now, so whatever we get for him will be mostly profit

Selling the liks of Phillips and Dragusin and Solomon for relative cheap £10m each for example - adds up

No centre backs, including the very best the PL has seen (Terry, Adams, Ferdinand etc) are ready at aged 19/20.

Posters just go on some wild excursion only conceived in their minds, about how good our players are. It's pretty much fantasy.

It's the PL. The guy wants to play football, and then when he is ready, and if still under contract.....

For now, back to the Farmer's league, where Kane scores 50 goals a season for context.
You do know that Ferdinand was signed to Leeds age 21 for the transfer record at the time. The idea that he wasn't ready is utter shite.

Get in Van Hecke, Robertson and Senesi

Sell Romero, Dragusin, Phillips

Probably a net profit?

Which would mean any budget we do have can still go to the midfield and attack
