Who are we kidding, despite their strengths there really isn't anyone that plays in our back four that isn't a mistake waiting to happen.
:llorishuh:
Oh, I assure you that I'm not saying that any of them are particular mistake-free, but Chiriches strikes me as our biggest high-risk/high-reward player we have. Shocking stupidity one second, unbelievable play the next. Dier and Fazio can be mistake prone, but at least I feel that they are more consistent. Vlad on the other hand is like Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.

Dier was poor against Man Utd, but he tends to be making a mistake every game. Not necessarily in the way Fazio may have done (misplaced passes) but his positioning has been dreadful, which still leads to conceding goals. I like Dier, but he's still young and these mistakes are bound to happen due to inexperience. Being partnered next to Vertonghen isn't going to help, as he'll just learn his bad habits.

I want Dier and Fazio partnering each other. You have young, strong and quick Dier next to the only experienced centre half we have, the leader of the defence. Get Vertonghen out of the back four for now.

Time to unleash ade, capoue and kaboul. The master plan of keeping our key players fresh as fuck for the run in is genius. Just when every other team will be feeling the pain - on to the battlefield strides another 30mill of talent, raring to go with bags of energy and enthusiasm. Kaboul dominating cunts like a peak desailly, capoue a wrecking ball in midfield and big ade, the black van basten, shitting on folks.

Lets get back to basics and re-invent the wheel
Nice bit of push and run

......................................Lloris,
...............................Walker, Rose,
.....................Dier, Dembele, Vertonghen,
...........Chadli, Adebayor, Kane, Eriksen, Lamela

haha - the formation app doesn't recognise 2,3,5 as a formation!

[formation=4231, Lloris, Walker, Fazio, Vertonghen, Rose, Bentaleb, Stambouli/Paulinho/Capoue, Lamela, Dembele, Eriksen, Kane][/formation]
I imagine Poch would put out a 4231, so that would be my preferred line up. Mason hasn't been at his best the last couple of games. Would like to see some Capoue/Stambouli in the midfield, to give us a bit more defensive cover.
What I would actually like to see against Leicester is a 442

I actually think Adebayor had a positive impact against United, even though he only got 12 minuntes

I think any CB's would eventually begin to look incompetent in our system as they are constantly exposed, so I'm not ready to get the daggers out for a 20 year old yet.

There are huge problems in the area of the pitch between midfield and defence. Opposing teams are afforded too much space and can leisurely thread balls through our back line. Even though we have many central midfielders, we don't have many of the right ones,

I was being a tad sarcastic. Either way from hearing reports from his 2 appearances he is nowhere near a place in the first team squad let alone being selected ahead of Walker.

To be fair I'm not even disagreeing with you. He's signed for us on the back of hype. Did he even start any games at the World Cup?

I agree. For whatever reason every game you have teams creating chances against us and it's just far too easy. Even if we are dominating teams, they still create chances. West Brom away for example, we won the game 3-0 but they were still walking through our defence like nothing, somehow they didn't score and sometimes that happens.

But it's something that needs to be addressed clearly.

That's the issue with a pressing system, it requires effective aggressive pressing and also high rates of possession. Man United had to much of the ball last game and we didn't press aggressively enough thus exposing our high line, not sure how people can go around blaming Dier and Verts.

From what I can see we fell apart because Bentaleb,Mason and in particular Eriksen, Townsend (when he was on) and Chadli did a Paulinho and disappeared for the first half leaving us more open than a hookers legs.

Leicester has scored a total of 24 goals in 28 games this season. I'm not writing them off or saying that we shouldn't be cautious about it given our propensity to give up soft goals, but I'm not sure why this would be the game that we need to increase our midfield defensive presence.

Yes, Mason didn't look good last game, but almost nobody really did so I'm not too sure why he's being singled out so much.

We can and should give ourselves the ability to experiment a little, but I'm not sure propping Ade up there with Kane is the solution. Only three other teams have allowed as many goals this season as them, so Kane and Co. should be able to get the job done. IF we aren't leading, or are god-forbid losing, later in the game I wold like to see Poch not wait until their is only 12 minutes left to throw on another striker.
