Match Tottenham Hotspur v Leicester City (Home) 21st Mar 3pm

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

What! How much did Schneiderlin cost Southampton then? He cost about 4 times less than Stambouli.
I just don't get how people think we can just snap up players for £20-30-40m without a care in the world..
We have got no over inflated sponsorship deals from firms one by the owner.
We have not got a 50k plus stadium.
Look at it like this. We have the 9th highest average attendance. Newcastle, Everton, Sunderland, Liverpool & Chelsea all get more than us.
Yet, we have the 5th highest match day revenue, double that of Man City and Newcastle who have the 4th & 3rd highest gates in the EPL respectively. We also get slightly less than Liverpool who have the 5th.
Why is that?
Ticket Prices, hospitality (to an extent) and costs.
That enables us to pay competitive wages.

So, be prepared to pay a lot more for your ticket and membership if you want us to be signing big money players without selling first.
We need the capacity to do so and, if we want to start buying big money players and pay competitive wages, we will still have to charge the same prices as we do now when we have a capacity comparable to Newcastle.

Just as Chavs make about 4 times as much as us in match day revenue with just an average gate of just 5k more - making them 3rd in the table of Matchday earners with the 7th biggest average attendance.

Swansea bought Bony for about £12m and he has done wonders with them. Yet City paid 3x more for him. Who has the better buyers there?
Just to point out that TV money and commercial deals now account for more money for most/all Prem clubs rather than ticket and membership money. Also CL income is a lorra luvverly money for the 'big 5 clubs' who regularly scoop it up.

We've scored the most goals in 2015. Are you not entertained.

It's indeed entertaining, in a flirting-with-a-coronary type of way.

Man I've given Greavsie the benefit but I give in. For fuck sake, we must get behind this manager and stick together. Do our very best to push for a better signing policy but overall, STICK WITH POCH!!!!!!!
Fair enough Dixie.
I see no need at all to get behind Poch on forums such as this if he is failing us. (Of course at the ground, the team, manager and the club in general should be given full support before and during the game).

Yesterday's performance was shambolic and embarrassing, and after the humiliation of OT, plus our defeat at Wembley, it represents a worrying trend to me at least.

If we are happy just to have a team that stays in the Prem but wins nowt, I think Poch can manage that as a minimum. Ditto, Sherwood and AVB had they stayed.

But surely our aim is a trophy/top 4 every now and then. Does Poch look like he will deliver either? I'm genuinely not sure, but am edging towards the view that he won't.

Of course ENIC must shoulder a lot of blame for our failed transfer policy in recent windows, and I think it's fair to say that I have criticized them for this on more than one occasion.

But IF ENIC are going to continue down the 'zero net spend route' then Poch is going to need to be more resourceful in dealing with those limitations than he he has so far indicated he will be.

Who won yesterday? I've read the thread, and I still don't know - I heard a rumour it was a 7 goal thriller - that can't be right - that's not proper football lol.

Did anyone catch what the Leicester fans were singing in the second half to the same tune as the 'oh, his name is Andros Townsend, Tottenham's number 17' one? Was it pretty much the same thing but for one of their players?

Ooooh his name is Leonardo
Leicester's number 23
Yes he cost a fucking fortune
But he scores goals so that's alright with me

Which is funny, because he has scored 2 goals since the start of October :adelol:

One of my highlights yesterday is when the Leicester fans replaced the increasing useless shelf side with the chants "we're the Leicester" was good, their fans to be fair were good in number and voice

Not as much fun, I agree, but if we'd won every game since I was seven, 2-0, I'd probably be bored with the whole thing by now.
No, no. What have I said? I'm doomed.

Ha ha. Who cares? Come on you Spurs. :llorisunsure:

Joe a man who likes the cliffhangers then, the faster ageing and possible heart attacks that come from being a Spurs fan.

would just like our defense to be that little bit better so I am not shitting myself at 90 mins, even just one or two 3-0 results in our favour would be fine for me, one really comfortable game once in a while would be great. Then again it is better than AVB and George Graham boring football by my god we do make it hard for ourselves.
