Transfer Adama Traore

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Sure what does he know about football?

Someone show him the stats.

Ah yeh, sure.
We can't ever second guess or discuss any professional opinions, right.

By that logic - Traore was signed as someone working for Wolves. If they do it professionally, it has to mean they know more and we can't discuss it. Also... that is true for other clubs, so lets just keep our mouths shut and look lineups of all 20 EPL teams in silence, right?

If not, then I would just point out, that it could have been hardest to be in footrace with Traore, but for exaple Aguero did so-so-so much more harm to us. But again - that is perception (something that you seem to fetish above everything in this world) against actual tangible results....

Compare him to Bolasie again, give me another laugh.

Buy a forward but dont expect them score. The mental gymnastics on this one are astounding.

Last couple of seasons, under our actual manager, he showed he actually wasnt that adept at creating (or scoring). Story of his whole career.

But, miraculously, bring him to Spurs and suddenly that will change?

If he does come in, I of course hope he is incredible. But I certainly wont be holding my breath on expecting anything other than what we all know from him already.
He’s not an outright forward. He can play RM, RWB or more advanced. He’s a playmaker.

Entirely possible (probable) I did, I cant stand those videos at the best of times. And once it was apparent the supposed "highlights" didnt actually show anything I tuned out completely.

Easy to appear polarised on a player, and paint yourself as a hater or something, which Im not.

Ive no doubt he has some good actions in his locker, and Ive no doubt some of the assists I didnt watch are very appealing.

Just as, it obvious why a player that is a monstrous specimine who can dribble past people for fun would be appealling.

Problem is, IMO, anything other than the most superficial anlaysis of him shows a player desperately lacking.

And at £40m-£50m, I want want a more complete package.
Yeah, having a player who is exciting to watch does appeal, especially after the last 18 months of football. I mean, I loved that bit of magic from Bergwijn yesterday. Having a player who can skin people like that all game every game is fun to watch.

But I also agree, for the big money we should want a more productive player, ideally a 3rd goal threat to complete our front 3.

But then the excitement of Son-Kane-Traore front 3 is making me pro-signing Traore.

Overall I'm ambivalent, I don't love the signing, but I don't hate it. I can appreciate the pros and the cons. I do think that if we signed him, he is an improvement on Lucas/Bergwijn at least. But whether the money is better spent elsewhere is another question.

I think you turned it off where they started showing most of his assists.

I'm not big for or against this signing, I just thought the quality of assists were good. Kane/Son/Dele would appreciate those cut-backs and crosses, we don't really get to the by-line enough and create those easier goals.
his cut backs yesterday found no one. Who exactly wont play if he does. with bergwyn we have someone with no end product, we can't afford to carry another one. This is not a priority signing or a position we need to sign someone in. Definitely need someone closer to what we had to eriksen who can get us out of the defence and link the attack without always needing to carry the ball long distances.

Not fussed what I'll say is if money was no object I'd buy him for the shits and giggles. In a uber drilled side like say prime Poch Spurs. Traore could very usefully have been used. Teams would sit in against us and a few of the draws that season become wins with this lad or Zaha. They are basically concussion grenades used to disrupt, then the ball breaks Kane and Son turn 1pt into 3. That wins us the title. Not really where we are at anymore. I think this is acknowledgement that we have fucked the striker search.

I know people focus on his end product but it’s not nearly as bad as people say. He put in some good crosses yesterday. But the positives really outweigh the negatives.

We struggle holding the ball, it takes two guys to get the ball off Traore. We struggle creating space, Traore creates space with every run. We struggle with holdup play when Kane is not involved, Traore can hold up the ball.

I think he would be a great option and can add another option to our attack. Even if he’s a dummy for Kane and Son to have space, the defense needs to focus on Traore at all times.
This is a high quality post amid a sea of dogshit

So strong that he can bully you if you get tight, so fast if you give him space he can rinse you.

No no, don't want any of that at Tottenham for the new coach who has seen him every day for years.

Along with being often cited as one of the toughest opponents, he's also been called one of the most professional and dedicated players.

TBF there is a good 2/3 chances he created his team mates should have done better with looking at that set of clips.

That's the hard thing, for me, with Traore. One part of me has seen enough to know that there is really no end product, but then there is the angle of just having him being able to terrorize a back line and create space and opportunities for the rest of the offense. An attacking Traore suddenly diverts a lot of attention away from the likes of Son and Kane. Add an in-form Lucas running around and it could cause all sorts of problems for a defense.

This what people are gushing over?

Get Aaron Lennon back and put him on a diet of protein shakes and deadlifts. I’d actually tear my hair out at the amount of opportunities he wasted.

Incredible pace, a lot of hussle and bustle but there is an overall lack of quality. He absolutely leathers his passes, shooting poor, final ball mostly poor. If we were to sell Moura at around £20m and buy Traore for say £30m then ok. But in terms of priorities this should be about 6th or 7th on our to do list.
