Any team would struggle without their top 2 center backs and starting goalkeeper. The difference in quality between VDV and Cutí on the one hand and Dragu and Gray on the other hand is quite staggering. For starters, Gray is not a defender. He is a midfielder. He was put there because we have no choice. Secondly, Gray is 18 years old.

Let’s get real. Any club in the PL that uses their backup CB and a fill-in midfielder that happens to be 18 years old against Liverpool would get demolished like we did.

Our GK was not good again today.

What could you expect, realistically?

The midfield was atrocious, but VDV and Cutí are much more likely to be able to clean up their errors.

Ange in, but we need to build real depth.
People in here don't do reality mate. Half ofthem think an Iraola would have grafted out a draw with Gray at CB and it was just Ange's suicidal football that cost us today and not the absolute gulf in class between the two sides or the 10 injuries or inept Summer window.

I think they all spend far too much time listening to brainlets like Carragher and J Redknapp.

Today is not the time to discus this. We have beaten Liverpool only twice in 24 games. That is over 10 years including Poch, Mourinho & Conte. In fact 1 of those victories was by Ange. We were beaten by the best team in the country at the present time. Many of the team are injured with others knackered after a big match last Thursday. MU who do not have our injury problems and rested some on Thursday lost 3-0 at home to Bournemouth, a far worse result.
There have been worse results this season against lesser teams with a stronger team. We did score 3 goals and I doubt anyone else has done that against Liverpool this season. The crowd were still with him near the end and from what I could see on TV there were not mass walk outs like we have seen from opposition supporters when we have taken other teams apart.
Ange may end up going but he should not be dismissed on this result
We scored 3 goals. Even when Ange said this in his post match interview I cringed. We've just been pumped 6-3 and to talk about scoring 3 against Liverpool is at best gaslighting the fanbase and at worse being so up you're own ass you really believe that you should be applauded for today's debacle. Sorry spursmalc... thinking that scoring 3 goals against Liverpool in a 6-3 hammering is something to crow about is exactly why we are a laughing stock... there was nothing good about today. Nothing at all. We couldn't even organise a half decent protest. Levy has beaten us into submission. There is no fight left. Just Korean consumers lapping up the stadium experience.

Against a team top of the table despite having a net spend lower than ours.

Start of the season spurs we're around sixth in the bookies odds. Equal fifth in some, seventh in others. Over a season it's a pretty good gauge.

Chelsea has over achieved, Man City under. Going off the odds. Spurs and Ange's problem comes with lost points against way lesser teams. Not the Liverpool game.

End of the day I think with a decent team available he and spurs come at least sixth. That's about right with the odds with zero league progress. Now the judgement about that comes down to how one sees the circumstances.

A new manager at this point isn't going to change the outcome of this.

Spurs are/were favourites to win the EL. They should win the EL. No excuse not to. The moment spurs go out, he goes out. Mark my words this is what he is being judged on this year. Winning it (expected) may not even be enough if things don't vastly improve with a fit team.

I don't know. It's easier to just be Levy and Ange out. Both can't really follow through on what they promise at this stage of the season.

That said, I probably need to consult a therapist I can't afford first, and also, we keep sacking good managers half way through the season so why not go through a full season with one for a change.

You know a manager is stuffed when they continuously blame injuries. Perhaps if he hadnt chucked Romero and VDV in for the same game things might be a bit different but i doubt it. Its not about the centre backs, its about the way he plays.
It is both. When you ask your defenders to constantly defend man to man, if they can’t do it you are in trouble. If we had our first choice centre backs we would be much better defending man to man. If Vic was in goal we would have been better playing it out from the back.

It is very easy to say it is one or the other but I think we have to recognise both can be at fault.

The morning after our last cup co petition elimination is when I would pull the trigger.

Probably Feb or March realistically.

Once we only have the league to play for and we are sitting in the bottom half would seem like a good time to give a gaffer a few months to assess the squad and have a good impact on the summer window.

I didn't expect Ange to survive December honestly but now think he might, possibly with the same logic as above.

Before yesterday we’d conceeded 19 goals in the league, only Liverpool and arse conceding less. It’s the winnable games that have cost us, and if we’d of won at least the home ones, we wouldn’t be having these conversations.

Getting rid of ange now would do more harm than good this season. And set us back further.

Over 50% in or undecided still?
Cmon now... seriously?
I'm guessing a fair few of those accept he's a Godawful manager but their inner conscious knows that getting rid of YET ANOTHER manager is just once again brushing the real problem under the carpet.

Someone in another thread pointed out that the one small crumb of comfort from this Ange mess is that it's actually putting our disgusting, hideous ownership more and more in the spotlight

The longer he's around, the more they get exposed.

A kind of short term sacrifice for the long term greater good

Could be an explanation?

We’re fucking 9th in 2024, with 50 points. We haven’t been this shit since 2008. What more proof do you need? It’s not about one game, or a small sample of games, it’s a whole fucking year of midtable results.

And that's table for 35 games. Imagine, if we don't win at least one our two next games (which is not unreal scenario) - we will be on the path for finishing with less than 50 points this season
