Management Ange Postecoglou

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

And frankly that’s the biggest thing we need at the moment.

Whether people like it or not we’re not spending loads of money, and most of what we can spend will probably come from sales. There has been some really bad purchases and it can’t be much more clear from Levy that there aren’t bags of money just sitting there to be spent.

If Ange can get this group to over perform, we get in a DoF who is actually good at their job, we develop better analytics in our buying, and move out the trash we can be in a much better space in 1-2 years. We just need Ange to get the most out of what we have to give us time to turn over the team.
Joking apart League Cup might be a decent shout; All the pwoper clubs are in Europe, and Poch as we know is crap in knock out cups

I’m curious about his training methods.

How does a manager who demands so much running from his players keep them healthy?
Well the Aussies are up there with the technologies and science applied to the sports they compete in …. Which is numerous cos they’re quite a sporty bunch

So he shouldn’t be lacking in networks to tap into for the athletic training

Football training… I’ve read he’s better than Guardiola but this remains unknown because Aussie coaches aren’t respected in Europe

And Scotland isn’t respected in Europe

So he’s a big brilliant secret

Kennedy took over as interim manager before Ange for 14 games and the team performed worse. He's known for taking over certain match tactics which have always been a weak part of our play. Defence and set pieces. He was kept on because he had a knowledge of the club as he's went from player to coaching staff, got on well with the chairman as a non threatening yes man and knew the players and background settings that Ange benefited from. How he'll adapt with such inexperience to the EPL with a large club... Time will tell.
Oh right..Well there's no point. As we have his position filled already on our coaching staff.....'Yes man teachers pet'

Can we ban prolific forum cunts from making threads please?

I know that applies to 99% of us and we'd only have threads my Mrs P, but seriously.
She'd turn this into a love Island Stevie Perryman fan forum.....

No I agree with you.

But he definitely did get involved in the scouting shortly after enic bought the club. I remember reading a piece in it quoted him saying …. He knew absolutely nothing about football and kept himself out of any scouting remits … which he said changed as he got more familiar with the sport …… that told me enough that he began having an input on player recruitment and not solely signing or not signing the dotted line

You know how successful people get about football. They think they can transfer whatever skills they apply to business or commerce or trading etc and then get totally found out …. Todd boehly …. You have to be a football person (stats aside) to know football

You can’t just learn the rules and think you know football. These boardroom types realise the tough way
I wouldn't doubt that. A bit too hands on on things he is not an expert in. I doubt that is the case now though. It's looking like the structure being put in place and the emphasis we want to place on analytics will completely remove him from any of these decisions. Fingers crossed.

This is one area that I wish the club took over and didn't rely on whichever manager it hired. Being in top physical condition and training in such a way so as to minimize injuries should be the purview of the club. There should be a whole fucking department built around that that does nothing else but continuously improve conditioning and look to bring in all the latest technology and training methods.

Any manager that comes in would then find a super fit squad of players and would be able to focus on the tactics rather than also having to get them physically ready. Maybe tweak things a bit, but that's about it. Club should be responsible for 90% of the players' fitness and manager for the remaining 10%. It's a no-brainer.

Journalist Matt Law has suggested that Giovani Lo Celso has little desire to return to Tottenham Hotspur following his time out on loan this past season.

Law was speaking on Last Word On Spurs as Tottenham prepare for a pivotal transfer window.

Giovani Lo Celso is one of the players with a question mark hanging over him. The Argentinian has spent most of the last 18 months on loan with Villarreal after struggling to impress Antonio Conte.

Of course, Conte has now moved on and been replaced by Ange Postecoglou. So there may be a number of players who are about to be handed a clean slate by the Australian.

Lo Celso not keen on Tottenham return
But Law does not expect Lo Celso to be one of those who sticks around – with the player keen to move on over the next few weeks.

“I think Lo Celso will go and I think he’s had a good loan so they will get some decent money back on Lo Celso, so that makes sense,” he told Last Word On Spurs.

“I don’t think they see him really doing anything at Spurs and from what I am told he doesn’t really want to come back to Spurs. I think the ship has sailed.”

It is going to be tough for Tottenham to recoup anything like the £27.2 million they paid to bring the 27-year-old to North London. Unfortunately, he has only shown glimpses of being that player during his time with Spurs.

There may be takers for him over the coming months. Reports from the Daily Mail have previously claimed that Unai Emery is interested in taking Lo Celso to Aston Villa after managing him at Villarreal.

Obviously, it would not be ideal to sell the midfielder to a Premier League rival. But an English side are surely more likely to be able to offer a fee Tottenham are happy with.

With Postecoglou at the helm, there is always a chance that there will be a few surprises amongst the squad regarding who features prominently next year.

But it does seem that it is going to take quite the turnaround for Lo Celso to be involved with Spurs at the start of the new season.

Fair enough question, which was also raised by the Celtic fans in Ange's first season as there were a few soft tissue injuries. Especially Kyogo.

Not sure of the answer but he does train them hard and expects the players to be unrelenting - gets the shits if they take too long taking throw ins and corners because he wants his team's superior fitness to count. Celtic scored a ton of goals in teh last five minutes of halves.

There is a cost though if the team is too old - you'll note he mainly buys youngsters.

I will be his number 1 fan if he completely banish fan favourite Skipp from the first team.

PEH, Dier and Davies should be among the first ones to go.

I’d be willing to give most of the team a clean slate (excluding some obvious cloggers) and see what Ange can’t get out of them.

One consistent comment I hear is that he doesn’t tolerate players that don’t fit or don’t work.

I think we could see several players we’ve written off flourish with some confidence and the right system
