West Ham sacked Julen Lopetegui 8 days ago for his horrendous league form.

They're above us by 2 points. How the fuck is that acceptable? How have West Ham and United both seen their woefully out-of-depth managers and pulled the trigger (Ten Hag won a fucking FA cup in May btw) and we're still dallying over the decision it has dawned on 90%+ of supporters that we desperately need to make, and fucking quick?

Arteta came up with another easy way to nullify us. Press the ball to our left side so our keeper/players have to play wide ball to Son.

And Son either does not jump for header, or is easilly dispossesed by defender (happened like 3 times just in first 25 minutes?)

And old tricks still worked as well. Once ahead due to set piece/buildup fuckup, sit deep and wait. We would not score 2nd even with additional 90 minutes.

At least ball movement on our half was improved in 2nd half due to Ange adjustements (mostly personal changes) - but then we were completely toothless in final 3rd.

Btw it was funny to see Deki and Son left forward during their corners. Both terribly slow these days. Not single counter was generated because of that.
There wasn’t a counter attack because we never got the ball to them. That’s not Sonny or Deki’s fault.

And we get injuries because of shit tactics and I imagine suicidal pressing training sessions
That and a sub-standard medical team...

I can't help but feel that our set up, the facilities and the people employed to work in them, is like purchasing a Michelin Star fancy restaurant, top notch kitchen, etc, and then hiring the Maccie's crew to run it.

But then still charging Michelin prices for the food they whack out.

This squad is a top 4-6 squad. And as been ruined from terrible management and tactics.

Poor management no doubt. Top 4-6? Maybe. I see a few glaring holes (RW//6). Add European competitions and definitely not.

We finished 5th last season on GD. Another chance to back the manager and push on in the summer transfer window. But did we? NOPE.

We’ve seen this show before.

Thing is we've seen this time and time again...

A new manager comes in and there will be an uptick in performance, if nothing else because they will do something different, and probably get back to basics as a starting point.

I can't believe that people actually think that this is it, nobody could be doing better, it's bizarre.

Not even commenting on his managerial ability, Ange has gotten himself muddled up mid-project and hasn't a clue how to get himself back on track, he's disappeared up his own arse and can't find a way out, the only way this is going to get better is with a fresh start.
I think that initial bounce was mostly due to an injection of new players and youth last season. VdV, Udogie, Porro, Maddison, they all contributed heavily in that period. All have either suffered injuries or a serious loss of form ever since.
I accept what your saying is unacceptable
If even he can see the end is nigh then the end must be nigh.
Ange isn’t guy but I’ve no interest in a mason or Moyes type in until the summer.

If the next guy won’t take the job now. (Iraola etc) there’s no point in changing
Hoddle is shit but he would do better.
Terzic still knocking about.
Xavi
Fonseca
Allegri?
Roger Schmidt?

That's just a quick google of who is about. I can't see why people are so convinced "theres no one out there"

Where does that 90%+ come from? Last I read in the press was that over 50% still wanted him to stay. And even here only 48.8% definitely want him out, with the remainder either in or unsure.

Oh and I'm one of the 48.8%.

I think it’s both true that the squad isn’t good enough, and that a lot of other managers out there would get more from this squad.

I simply don’t want us spending more money on Ange specific players when we could get a better manager and give them the money.

I think it says something when Kulu is our best attacker, yeah he is good, but my word, where does he compare to some of the attacking players we’ve had in the last 35 years - he wouldn’t make the top 10.

Two things need to happen, 1. We need a better manager, the sooner the better, give him time this season to assess where he needs to strengthen 2. Proper summer spending, co ordinated, joined up thinking with a long term plan. Like Woolwich have done, it needs to be sustained over 3 summers.

I expect number 1 will happen but not 2 and we will get someone decent who will have us around CL spots but never backed to go any further - but that is an improvement on what we currently have

You pinpoint Woolwich as someone to copy. Having a plan.

Who is their world class attacking talent they have bought into their football club?

To equal the likes of RVP and Henry?

I don’t see him.

I like Ange as a person. I actually enjoy his interviews. Think he’s more honest than a lot of managers out there.

I don’t even mind his tactics. I like what he’s trying to do. Does try the odd wee tweak (two left up front for their corners last night), but we need a reset, not tweaks.

But he doesn’t have the players to do it, so should react to this and do something else until he does.

And it’s unforgivable to not have the players hitting the field last night baying for blood.

Look, guys. I've already kind of used to the fact that Ange does not manage team during the game. Just sulks there with weird expression on his face on the sidelines. But today hit a new low for me.

I was watching the game and in first half I felt that - yea, possession-wise, Woolwich was dominating. But we were solid! We did not go pressing in their 3rd, and that was fine, cause we could contain them in our half. On other side we managed to counter them and created few really good chances. OK, we conceded one from the corner (that never should have been corner) and then got carved open when Bissouma lost the ball. But even at 1:2 at half time I was kind of hopeful. We were able to contain them in defense and stinged on the counter. First half time xG - 0,57 for them: 0,36 for us (info from Understat; in some other sources HT xG was even 0,38 to us and 0,33 for them).

Then, enter tactical mastermind of Ange ... took off our midfield (Bissouma and Sarr)... to bring on Madders and Johnson (?!?).

2nd half we were all over the place. Conceded many good chances and did not create anything ourselves. I saw not a single moment from 2nd half that would have made me believe we could get something from it.
xG for 2nd half - 1,69 for them and 0,42 (!) for us.

And what did our master tactician say after game?!?
Highlighted POOR FIRST HALF PERFORMANCE. And said we improved on the 2nd half ?!? Never been more WTF with him before really.

He really claimed that half where our xG improved by 0,09 while we allowed them to improve their xG by 1,12 was AN IMPROVEMENT? Come on, he is definition of clueless. He could not notice an acceptable playing spell when it hits him into face. And praised the half where Woolwich was clearly the better side. Is he actively trying to get sacked to talk such absolute bullshit?!?

We don't have the luxury of waiting for the "perfect manager" to start a new "project". We're sliding down the table and are in desperation mode of needing a coaching setup that's better than the one we've got.

And when you look at it from that perspective.. A potential shortlist starts to look quite long.
I never want to hear the word "project manager" again. It's absolute bollocks.

You and I aren't ever going to fix the Levy problem.
Sure, money is money for ENIC, but they'll know how many people attending games aren't the actual season ticket holders. The more it happens, the more they will get nervous about a lack of renewals.

In reality though, none of it matters anymore. The football team is just a regular act at the multipurpose Tottenham Arena now.
If Ange and the boys don't improve, Levy is more likely to cancel Spurs and give the venue to another team.

Renewals always hold firm. FOMO wins. Even with someone like Ange in charge who the ST holder has zero faith in.

When we have a fit team Ange's tactics work well and with the right players I think we can be successful under him....

But his refusal to play more pragmatically when he's had to use the same 14 players with a game every 3 days for 2 months (and they are operating at 60-70% capacity) is a joke. Last night watching our players half heartedly committing to an aggresisve press and watching themArsenal totally dominate us was pathetic and unacceptable. Son and Kulusevski were really useless. When Bissouma lost the ball inside our own half for their winner (when we were attempting to play out from the back), Porro had fucked off up to the edge of their box. When Bissouma lost it their LWF had a clear run. Such naive football.

They might have hit the field baying for blood but their balls quickly shrivelled.

How does any manager cope with the lack of testicular fortitude at this club? There is just a horrible inferiority complex. From the first couple of minutes of the game when they press us to fuck and we start panicking, you know we are going to lose.

I actually predicted that we would break the cycle this time, without Saka who usually beats us on his own and no pressure in terms of our league position I figured we would go there, play our football without fear and cause an upset. More fool me.

They really aren't that good but we made them look good. We just capitulated like a bunch of bitches.

I just don't see a way out of it, until we start buying players on big money with ambition, proper footballers that want to win this is what we doomed to be in these big games.

I don't want to hear about Agile, Scrum, Kanban, Sprints, MS Project, touching base or whatever. I have enough of these people in the office!

Fucking office bods. They need to get their hands dirty.
I suggest ……

We need to have a minute to take 5.
Think outside the box but keep it in our circle.
And hammer out a solution while using a soft touch.
