FFS... can we all stop saying x manager has got to be better than Ange. If the bar is better than Ange we are truly fucked. I don't want our next manager to be chosen because he is better than Ange. Using that logic, a bloke from Oklahoma who has never watched a game of football in his life would be a candidate for the job. We all have to stop using that riposte when somebody challenges your point of view on who our next manager should be... you have a reason you chose that particular manager and it's not because "he's gotta be better than Ange"... we are Tottenham fucking Hotspur and our manager should either be one of the best, most decorated managers in the game... or a young up and coming genius who is revolutionising the game and doing it with success at a club a click down from Spurs. That means NO to Frank, NO to Iraola and NO to Silva... these are middle of the road managers who can get a tune out of middle of the road teams with limited expectations. Yes, they are all infinitely better than Ange but none of them move the dial for me. I know what is coming... "well who would your pick be"... So for the record, I would see if I could temp Scaloni who has pretty much won everything with the Argentine national team and whilst I don't know for sure, I would wager he would want to try club football at some point... bit of a gamble as never been a club manager but he's a winner who is flexible with formation and who builds teams through defensive solidity, camaraderie (not the left winger from the Nag's Head in Peckham) and maximising key players. As a club we have have an affiliation with Argentina. It would be a tough sell but he took over Argentina against a chorus of opposition and transformed them into ruthless winners. I am sure many of you will be a no for this one. If it was for the Woolwich connection I would also be quite tempted to sound out Emery. There isn't many young managers... Someone like McKenna is interesting but I'm not sure he is quite ready for the jump just yet.
