Management Ange Postecoglou

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Trophy before league? Probably true, but it shows have crap he is.

He's been knocked out of two of them, and has been deeply unimpressive in the third.

I think it’s safe to say he would struggle in the CL.

But right now we are 4 matches from a European final.
Playing a team who have a wage bill of less than £40m and who have sold their best player this calendar year.

So I will take those odds over playing Real Madrid or Bayern Munich tbh.

Ange wins trophies in his second season. It’s what he does!!

This was so fucking weird. I thought I was the only one who noticed this. And Paratici for those lauding his return was all over this. It's incredibly strange.
In hindsight it means that either the club forced it after all of the blowback regarding Nuno being a defensive manager. Or as the other narrative goes he was always just a temp until Fabio could convince Conte to come.

I reckon Frankfurt are better than
AZ who beat us
Galatasary who beat us
Rangers who should have beat us

Early season Palace
Ipswich
Leicester
Everton
Maybe Fulham

I bet some of them have similarly small wage bills too. (Ipswich def £40m or so a year)

You've admitted you don't watch us actually play football. 😆 🤣 😆

Now compare that to the wage bill of all the teams we’ve actually beaten in the competition. Az Alkmaar for instance.

AZ Alkmaar have a total of 81 players in their home squad. AZ Alkmaar play in the Eredivisie, the premier division of football in the Netherlands.

AZ Alkmaar total wage bill for 2025 is:

  • £6,155,032 per year
  • £118,366 per week

The highest earning player in the squad is Seiya Maikuma earning £8,600 per week.

Might be both actually.

Levy promised return of free-flowing attacking football in his post season statement. There was article in The Athletic that says he was hesistant to bring Nuno, but was convinced by some Paratici's analysis how Nuno was front-foot manager based on his Valencia that played with 4-3-3 formation...

So i get Levy motivation to not look like a clown again due to his previous statement, and why Nuno was forced to adjust his philosophy to the one he used in Valencia.

And Paratici.... Yeah, he tricked Levy there for sure. Betting on bringing Conte in the middle of season if Nuno fails was pure gambling, think he would not survive this failure if it was not his first 3 months as a Sporting Director as well.

Don’t need to watch football to know a wage bill!!

I’ve been told on here we can’t compete with the big boys because we don’t pay the same wages. So are you in the camp where wages don’t matter?

Madrid and their £273m wages v Frankfurt on £40m.
Who would you rather play?? Madrid??

  • Ange Postacoglu #Spurs record breaking boss : Defeat at Chelsea on Thursday would see Ange become the first Tottenham boss to lose his first four league games against the Blues.
  • No side has earned fewer points in Premier League London derbies this season than Tottenham, who have lost five of nine such games this campaign (W3 D1).
  • From November 6th defeat to Chelsea, we have suffered more league defeats (27) than wins (22).
  • In total since Nov 5th 2023 before the Chelsea game at home we have lost 35 matches. Only four ever-present Premier League clubs have taken fewer points than us from then and we will drop two more places should we lose to Chelsea and Everton and West Ham win this week.
  • No shots on target in the opening 45 minutes at Fulham meant it was the ninth time we have failed to register a shot on target in the first half of an EPL match under Postecoglou, this is is more than our last two permanent managers combined - Antonio Conte (6) and Nuno Espirito Santo (2).
  • Our away form has also been horrendous Only relegation-threatened sides Leicester (10) and Southampton (12) have lost more Premier League away games this season than us (8).
  • We have lost a staggering 15 of our 29 games league taking us over over the 50% mark.We have lost 19 games in total so far with 11 games to go giving him a 43% win percentage
  • We a have PPG ave for the season so far of 1.17

The above is just a small snapshot of our managers absolute failure to progress our club since his appointment.

So it's not going too well then 😂

My Mrs says there was stuff in the Italian media where they laughed about it openly, apparently Conte had contractual issues where he could take a job for a period of gardening leave. That only Nuno didn't know he was a caretaker. Could be mischief but who knows. Seems a pretty shady set up.

I think we’re stuck with him unless Frankfurt knock us out!

Even if we lose 3/4-0 on Thursday!

Remember back when we could manage a R16/QF in the CL and mount a respectable league campaign at the same time?

Heady times!

I'm excited to hear replies about how the EL is really better than the CL, and how league performance is an illusion. Really invigorating debate, surely.

We struggled against them with a tiny wage bill.

The Aussie Fraud could lose to almost anybody regardless of wage bill.

The stats tell you 2 losses in 10 European games for Ange as a Spurs manager. He knows his European onions.

Plus Frankfurt were in the conference league last year. A trophy that is below a club of our stature.

We will deal them a hiding to remember at the bear pit known as White hart Lane. Crowd will be like a 12th and 13th man.
