Win the league. That’s very obviously his mentality.

If you think he’s afraid of failure, you haven’t been watching or listening. His “I always win in my second year” quote should be proof enough of that.

Remind me what Audere Est Facere translates to?
Why hasn’t he done any of that at the previous clubs he’s been at then? From what I can see he either leaves or his 3rd season is a poor one.

Im just on my way over to Wikipedia to add Champions league runner up to our trophy haul.

Some of you have Stockholm syndrome. Win the biggest trophy we've won since 84 and we have some on here saying making a Champions league final is more of an achievement, even saw someone claim Europa is smaller than the swamp cow trophy...

You guys

100%. Loved the Poch years and the football and vibes were unreal.

Last night was even better than that though, and as a result I think regardless of how long he’s around, it means that Ange’s legacy at this club is bigger than Poch’s.

Totally respect others will disagree with that, but Poch never got us there and Ange did.
Poch started Kane injured and Ange did not start Son, there is the big difference!

Newcastle beat Liverpool and other good prem teams and Palace beat Man City and Villa. Not comparable.

But anyway, there’s no point in bringing up facts .. I knew what would happen as soon as we won this and I know what’s coming next. Facts for now won’t matter - it’s all about optics.

Keep fighting your fight

You are helping someone, I’m sure of it. Even if I’m fucked if I know who

Winning the Europa league is no mean achievement to me he deserves another season in charge
Especially when last night showed the players are 100% behind him and also the performance from the knock out stages shows he has a lot more tactical nous than many give him credit for

Reaching a CL Final is a tougher job to do, but it is not a bigger achievement.

It was an absolute tactical master class from Ange.

Man United would have gone into this game expecting us to play out from the back and leave space in the full back positions. Instead, we played long balls and kept out defenders deep. We switched between pressing and backing off throughout the first half and left United unable to gain any momentum by consistently bullying them. Full shithouse mode.

As predicted, the game ultimately came down to the quality of goalkeeper. Vicario almost with a howler; saved by VDV - but it was Onanah's slo-motion reactions that was their undoing.
For Christ sake...scrappy game, scrappy result...I mean a 1-0 win over a team that is total crap...tactical masterclass...do you know anything about football..?....we have our trophy but let's not forget he's also taken us down to New level of mediocrity...
We really have to have a new manager...

Hopefully with the Don back, he can concentrate on getting some good players in to help Ange out. I think it would be very difficult to sack Ange now, frankly. And it looks to me like the players are on board with him too. I think sacking him would a) be an awful PR move and b) risk hugely disrupting the squad.

Not convinced how well he will do but I think winning that trophy has bought him the right to the summer window, full pre-season and see how the first part of next season goes.

The REALLY important part is that the bald lizard backs him with transfers. We've got CL football, we've got money - there is no excuse.

Yes, like others I've been flip-flopping about Ange and am unsure how it'll work out but...

A cunt off after winning a majority trophy is ultra peak TFC.

Carry on.

Agreed.

If you look at the most objective assessment of the teams - UEFA coefficient (for all its weaknesses - or any other sensible assessment of teams' strength, then you'll have more hard games to come runner up in CL than to win EL. But winning the EL IMO is the third best thing we can do in club football. Behind obviously the CL and PL.

We’ve won the biggest trophy we’ve ever won in the club’s history.

Granted for the third time, but still the first time in 40 years.

We’ve had better teams that didn’t win anything this big but as the scum are finding out today, you don’t get trophies for being the better team.

Just enjoy it. We’ve been laughed at for not winning shit, who gives a fuck what people think about us when we have won something
I'd say the Div One league title is bigger to be fair. But second biggest, yes. For sure.

I'm absolutely biased, but think it would be arguably the worst decision the club has made in a while to let him go.

Yes, the league season has been atrocious, but if (which I believe to be true) Ange did throw it all at the Europa from January onwards due to injuries and a lack of the signings he wanted, then he's done a spectacular job. For me - his legacy overshadows Poch, from the pure pedigree of what he has won. Poch's football was brilliant to watch, but we never got over the line. Ange has gotten us over the line in a major European competition with a worse squad than Poch had. You can make all the arguments of "if he focused on cups" etc., but the reality is that Poch didn't focus on those cups, and hypotheticals are just that.

Most importantly, Ange has now instilled a belief in this club and players which was fundamentally missing - they are winners. They have been winners. They can be winners.

With fit players, backing in the positions that he needs, he is absolutely the right manager for us going forward.
Bollox..

We beat City

We beat City and United in our Carabao run and beat Liverpool first leg so is that harder than our EL run?

What's that worth? 0.8 of a trophy?

I think I'm getting the hang of this, going to go back through the annals of football history and put an asterix against anyone who ever had an easy cup run. I think one of Liverpools five champions leagues was against Hamburg so that's getting asterixed for sure

No no no and no, we need a proper manager. This trophy was tottaly out of the blue, we got tô the final playing horrible football in some matches, with a bit of luck and thanks to a very good squad that Ange managed to finish 17th in the Premier. Nothing suggests he deserves another chance, football didn't improve under him since he arrived and we are unwatchable most of the time. Also UCL is a Very different challenge.
You have to be trolling. He's just won our first European trophy since 1984 - that's 41 years! The guy rightfully deserves a whole other season of serving us up the same crap football if he pleases - we've just won a major trophy, whether it was done in style or not, is irrelevant - we're European Champions. Enjoy the moment!!!
