Management Ange Postecoglou

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I’m starting to think it’s the system rather than the players.

I think it’s too simplistic for a top league, too easily worked out and negated. The refusal to adapt is also shouting ourselves in the foot making it too one dimensional which further makes it easier to nullify.
Here's the funny bit. It's not too simplistic it too bloody clever for it's own good. It's also slightly dated. Because this invert and create overloads, possession is king was formed in the post Messi Pep Barcelona period. It sucked everyone in ( I'll bet you dollars to donuts Ange made the pilgrimage to Barca to kneel at the feet of Pep) good coaches like Wenger became enthrall to it and went backwards trying to recreate it with inferior players.

But time waits for no system ironically Pep himself has adjusted it( prehaps explains why he is so great) he didn't act like he had completed football. What's simplistic about Angeball is how to beat it. Lo-fi long into the space or simply wait for the error at a deadball. We are the epitome of one dimensional.

That's interesting to me. I thought about it a fair bit (as has every Spurs fan, I suppose) and came to the conclusion I'm fine with the system in principle. I've always most enjoyed wingers running into space and pinging crosses in for an AM and a striker, so the style is different to my bias. But to be honest I think it's a good style of football and deserves time to implement at the club.

It doesn't best suit the likes of BJ and Son I admit. But I'm willing to wait and see how the manager builds the team/develops the players into his style. Barring relegation form, I'd like to see us stick with a manager who has a clear vision that isn't sit back and defend all the time.

I reckon part of it for me is the constant impatience and expecting something special to happen now. I'm just distrustful of the mentality on instinct.

Spurs fans have thought this about every managers system after they are bored of the freshness.

It’s never that simple. What is simple is that results need to improve

If we don't win against Brentford I think he's done for. Unlikely to get anything at ManU or at Brighton. Can't go into the international break with only 1 win in the league, and that against Everton.
All the agrees from the usual suspects.
Ange will not be under any pressure at all unless we start playing badly and the players stop believing in him.
Results will come if we keep playing well.
Coventry with 8 changes was a big fuck up which he will never repeat.

Always the same posts over and over as well. On a permanent doom loop.

As if it’s some new incredible message of awakening each time.

As are the likes and agrees for posts that seek to defend and excuse Ange's recent/current glaring failings as a manger.

It's a forum.

When things are going bad the usual trend is to see two camps emerge for and against.

Nothing new.

The truth is that this fanbase has been so abused and battered by Baldcunt that many have surrendered and are willing to just have any sort of stability, even if it's rooted in failure/mediocrity.
