Minor tweaks to Ange ball, he doesn't need to be this stubborn...his play is too honest, you can see why people say he's naive tbh.

Funny thing is if he models himself on Pep he would actually see a lot of improvements in his philosophy and up the shithousery, if we were a team that did that then they'd be much less jeopardy in our matches.

Whilst I agree, if we did it as much as the red shirts the yellows would be flying left and right. It isn't as cute when certain clubs do it.

If he's short in numbers and players aren't getting back quickly, Ange needs to cut down the intensity in games. He can't be setting up the team to be on full throttle from minute one to final whistle while attacking and defending the entire pitch all the time.

It's an evil cycle of trying to contain opponents with frantic press because presumably we lack the better personnel but when we still conceded, we lost more energy at the same time and conceded more as a result. The calmness knowing we can deal with attacks from the earlier part of the season has all but evaporated.

I questioned why our players are always so tired because they are supposedly professional athletes. They can't be dropping like flies at final whistle in almost every games - we are not playing 120 minutes.
Agree. He can have a style and philosophy but still be smart about it and play more safe in certain situations. No one is gonna blame him for abandoning the philosophy. Just a little more pragmatic and we would probably have less injuries and also more points in the league.

When did they get those injuries? Did they get them after 12 games and have they been playing for 3 months in 4 competitions in an injury crisis? Or has it been a few weeks max and they are out of everything except the league?
1- You should come back with the facts and tell me the answer. If you don't know "when" or "for how long", your argument falls flat and you are just throwing it to establish doubt. Not gonna work mate
2- Does it matter? They continue to win and climb up the table

It does matter.
And it was you that went with the whataboutery of Bournemouth so it’s you that needs to look a bit closer at the extra context. I know the answer but I didn’t bring them up

Like someone already wrote, seems we lack any sense of defensive coaching.

Our pressing is the only coached way of defending. Once press is beaten, its just pure chaos. We could say that very big room for improvement is even on headers - i lost count how many times we headed simple ball to either Hoffenheim guy or to not contested area, instead of sending it to one of our players.

Also lost count how many times we lost a goal because of cross on our far right post this season.

We won today because our players are simply better than theirs - even despite fatigue and suspicious tactics.
It makes it look like the coaching staff don't know Ange's football/what he wants from them. Which tbf may be the case given that he keeps switching coaching staffs all the time when he moves.

I've said for a while that Ange's football is less a system and more a philosophy. It's a loose concept but the tactical elements to it seems to be all over the place.

And our press is shit and easy to play through.

2 v 1 on the far post again for their goal tonight. We must have conceded at least ten like that this season.

I really feel for our central midfielders when we are defending. Our shape is often some sort of 4-2-4 - wingers are still high or are too lazy to track back, on the other hand one of CM is often told to push together with CF in line.

Then as one of two remained CMs you have to make decision - should i try to help my full back that is being overloaded and prevent cross? Or should i track opponents midfielder that is bombing our penalty box and will try to overload our CB for the cross? And because gaps to cover for 2 players are so big - i might not be able to do any of those things on time.

Missed the start of his presser tonight but the bit I caught was:

Him saying he was pleased with the result tonight and he still believes what he is doing is right and that he believes we’re on the right road and whether others agree with that or not is irrelevant to him.
His focus is to ensure the players and staff still have that belief and if they do he can achieve success. He added that it’s not easy because there is now a lot of noise, and in the PL is where there’s the most noise, but as far as he’s concerned it’s just noise.

Naive to assume he’s not aware of the growing noise but to my knowledge it’s the first time he’s referenced it in any way.
