Missed the start of his presser tonight but the bit I caught was:

Him saying he was pleased with the result tonight and he still believes what he is doing is right and that he believes we’re on the right road and whether others agree with that or not is irrelevant to him.
His focus is to ensure the players and staff still have that belief and if they do he can achieve success. He added that it’s not easy because there is now a lot of noise, and in the PL is where there’s the most noise, but as far as he’s concerned it’s just noise.

Naive to assume he’s not aware of the growing noise but to my knowledge it’s the first time he’s referenced it in any way.
Did he really use he/talk about himself that much? I didn't watch the presser but I'd hope that there would be more talk about a "we" and the collective rather than just about him.

Was pretty much how I remembered it. My take on it was his emphasis being that his focus is only on the players and the staff at the club and to convince them his approach was the right one. If they have his belief, then we can be a success. Anything or anyone outside of that is irrelevant and it’s just noise. Not pleasant to him necessarily, but just noise.

That could be taken to mean he includes fans as being irrelevant I guess, which is not a good look, even if he is just referring to the noisy or disgruntled fans. Others might read it differently, but that was the impression I got and that he is aware of the ever increasing noise. I wasn’t impressed.

If we're two years in and he's still having to convince the players of his system that says something.

I get we are down to bare bones and the players have been going two a week for a while now, but that was a pretty ropey. Same as last week, I'm not impressed with how we defend, even in set defence, it's fucking wishy washy and people like Son and Kulusevski are getting away with fucking about constantly. We allow ball after ball into our box.

When I watch Woolwich, when they lose the ball, their forwards sprint back and get themselves into position and press and track properly.

And this has been a problem even before Ange, it's one of the reasons Conte ultimately failed with his deep block pragmatism, because the same players just aren't conducive to defending in any format, let alone Ange's balls out shenanigans. Probably one of the reasons why Kulusevski lost his place under Conte having done ok for his first four months. Conte just won't wear that shit (especially when he's fucking bumbling away attacks up front too - or slowing down counters)

Son does sprint but is so unintelligent with his defensive work he just charges about aimlessly.

And when we have Johnson and Kulusevski down the right it's disastrous as neither of them defend properly. Johnson's even more hapless than Son, despite also being quick.

This kind off shit costs any club. Even great ones. It's why PSG occasionally struggled, even in Ligue 1, but often in the CL, but at least Mbappe, Neymar and Messi weren't fucking bumbling away 9/10 attacks like Son, Johnson and Kulkusevski. You just can't defend in the modern game with 7-8 men, especially when the worst defensive culprits are the biggest culprits for coughing up the fucking ball too.

To be fair minimising the City 0-4 result because you don't like the manager is also trolling.

Easy enough to say "yeah that was a great result but without consistency it's not enough"

both of which are true
Also ignoring that it was in the middle of one of the biggest injury crises in City history. Haaland also missed 2 very good chances before our first goal. That game should be ignored for the sake of our magical ceiling under Ange.

The simple fact is he has been our manager for 2 seasons and if we judge him by the metrics every other manager is measured by. This season he has one of the PPG in Spurs History.

The fact we have failed to win a game when the opposition has scored more than 1 goal we have failed to win in the Premier League.

Ange probably does have something about him but it is never going to work in the Premier League. The fact is you need to be more than a story teller and have a philosophy in the Premier League. Unlike every other league he has worked in it is full of the best coaches you can find. Teams try to find every little advantage to win. When you ignore the importance of experts and surround yourself with lesser coaches you are always going to fail.

Yeah.. that thing I said about "minimising the 0-4" win - that would be exactly what you're doing right here.

"Biggest injury crisis in City history" eh?

"that game should be ignored" eh?

What point exactly are you trying to prove here other than shitting on a dead man walking manager is more important to you than acknowledging a great victory with a depleted team that left us 3 points off second at the time.

24 hours later the news that Vicario was fucked dropped. At the time many Ange Outers acknowledged there and then that we were fucked. We all knew right then that a rubicon had been crossed with what our squad could endure. And so it has proved.

All the while you are giving Levy the out he desperately hopes for: "worst injury crisis in City history" LMAO - they lost Rodri and now they've spent 100's of millions in January to deal with their shortcomings while Spurs have lost an entire fucking first 11 and have bought a young keeper.

They get away with this because people like you focus on the small fry for our failings. Ange has beaten Pep TWICE this year with a crocked squad - guess which club has reacted to the so called "injury crisis"

Fuck me.. . At least go with Iraola and Bournemouth as an example. Oil Slavers? give me a fucking spell

I think the signs we can see in these leaks are that there is deep division internal at the club and that there are probably some elements who want to see him pushed out.

Who is leaking “No, the injury crisis doesn’t excuse him, his methods helped cause the injury crisis” stories?

Someone who’s gone? Or someone still within the club who wants for force the issue?
A political divide would never happen at Spurs, we have such a clear strategy that means any political differences, blame and backstabbing are very unlikely

I think most casual observations have led most rational people to the conclusion the injures are being caused by the football.

I wouldn't say it's just the muscle injures either. When you run and run and run (and I know this as was an obsessive runner for years) all you muscles, ligaments, joints etc get sore all the time. I'd often feel a sudden pain just walking down the stairs or moving in a way that wasn't just straight forward running.

Smashed my knee into a door frame in August tearing some cartilage and bruised the knee cap. Haven't been able to run since.
Lo and behold, most niggles have gone.

It’s within the club. Same MO with each management change.
Use the PR machine to spin a narrative.
There’s already reports he had this game and Leicester to save his job. These little stories come from somewhere.

So unless we lose to both Leicester and Brentford in our next two league games I think he keeps his job for now.

Then we have Liverpool and Villa away in the cups. And you’d get massive odds on us going through to the next round of both cups.

If Ange can win those two matches that week the narrative will change for sure.

If we go out of both cups we follow that with United at home on the 15th February. You can maybe bookmark that game.

100%.

He also knows and sees all the shortcomings we all see. He knows how to fix them too.

BUT.HE.WON'T.

Because he's a stubborn, arrogant Greek-Aussie bastard!
