Ange Postecoglou reacts to fielding youngest-ever Spurs team
On Wednesday in the clash against Manchester City,
Postecoglou’s faith in his young players was on full display as he named the youngest starting XI of his managerial career since moving to north London.
The team also ranked as the second youngest in
Tottenham’s Premier League history.
Speaking after being made aware of the record, the Spurs boss reflected on the positives, despite the team’s current struggles.
He said as relayed by the
official Tottenham Hotspur website: “There are definitely positives, and I think, you know, I keep saying there is enormous growth that we are witnessing before our eyes, even though we are not getting the rewards for it right now,
“It is great for Wilson to get 60 minutes today, and he will benefit enormously from it. Archie and Lucas continue to grow every game, and look, we are disappointed, but like I said, in terms of performance, from my perspective anyway, there is stuff in there where we can say, ‘okay, we are going to take that forward and get to the level we want to’.”
