Management Ange Postecoglou

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

The biggest thing that winds me up about him, is that he doesn't seem to realise the problem, or he just doesn't know how to fix it.

He cannot set a team up to be competitive in the PL, that is the long and short of it.

Every game we lose, he sits there and says we played well, there's no indication he will change it, try to do something different.

He's the worst manager I've ever seen. I'd genuinely put him right at the bottom.

Basically came here to say the same thing.
After 2 years of being in charge, he still does not understand what it takes to win an EPL game (!!). Can you fucking imagine that.

He keeps saying that "Our football was outstanding" and "we totally dominated the game" and "deserved to win the game" or "our football was so so good" (all of them are exact quotes from post-match presser yesterday).

NONE of this is true though.

OUR. ATTACKING. PLAY. IS. PATHETIC. PILE. OF. SHIT
There is literally no efficiency in that, though we put astronomical amount of volume of it into the game, so on paper we get lot of goals. But that takes a toll from other parts of the game.

Just look at yesterdays game. How many times did it happen that -
1) we could have tried to push on fast and in direct manner or use first touch pass, but decided to either take 2 extra touches or pass it back alltogether
2) we actually did put ball into the dangerous area, but there was no one attacking it from right angle
3) when one attacking player was expecting the pass to be in front of him, pass actually came straight at him/slightly behind. Or when one attacking player waited the cutback pass then the pass went in front of him.

There is no directness and cohesion in our attacking play.
Luckly there is Champions League going on and watching games there reminds me what actual football should look like. Or well.. I hate to say it, but just look at the two Woods goals from yesterdays game. There was crosser who knew what area to aim for. And there was a teammate knowing what area to attack. And in both cases - voilaaa- attacker met the ball and put it into the net. Ok, once it was (rightfully) annulled due to offside, but still.

Lets be honest, the only reason we are where we are in the Europa league is because we have close to 600m in revenue and 230m wage bill and weve played the likes of Alklmaar and Bodo. The win against Frankfurt was good, but they are hardly an elite team.

Bodo glimts best player earns 400k a year and most players are on 50-100k a year. Thats 2nd division pay.

Average wage at Alkmaar is 7.5k a week and Troy Parrot top earner on 20k a week.

Bodo will be a hard place to go for us. They're well organised, play on a plastic pitch, have had their close season already and don't lose much there. We're going to have to win by a few goals at home IMO and I can't see it.
But then, I couldn't see us winning away at Frankfurt. But that's just a well organised team. We weren't having to deal with the pitch, the climate or the the fact they may or may not be fresher than us.

We probably do need to, and I agree.

However, when we do and we move on to a new manager who has a period of struggling, I can guarantee there will be fans moaning we sacked Ange and that we got rid of a manager who won us something. Please, bookmark this. It's our fanbase to a tee.

There's always going to be fans moaning. There were fans complaining about Poch in the prime years. It's what fans do.
Sometimes they're wrong.
In this instance they're not. Ange is not a good coach, we're getting worse by the the week, players are burnt out and want to leave the club or both. You just need to look at what % of fans are complaining. When it gets to a large, vast majority, they're probably right. When it's a small minority, they're either really ahead of the curve, or just contrarians.

The fucking nerve of him acting all smug after the Frankfurt game.

As if he's some sort of messiah who hasn't had the respect he deserves

He's a self indulgent narcissist.

Honestly can't stand him. Get him out of the Club ffs

His tactics worked against Ross County and Dundee when Celtic obviously had much more quality and significantly more playing depth. Even in Japan with Yokohama he did well, but he had the resources and decent players in comparison to the rest of the J League. Same in Australia with the clubs he worked with.
Every manager in the EPL has his measure and his press conferences are repetitive and like a bad joke, unfortunately the joke's on us.

Eh,

I cannot be bothered by Milesy being a happy clapper since that's his literal job. His job is to do interviews and paint things as positive as possible.

There's a mentality issue at Spurs but I don't think that it stems from the club interview guy.

Yeah I’m not saying it stems from him, I don’t think he’s out selling it as such, just to me he basically is the mouthpiece of all that’s wrong with the club. I get it he’s a bloke doing a job and as a person I don’t know him, probably a nice chap - but just everytime he speaks it sums up the mentality here as it doesn’t matter how bafflingly awful we were, he just comes out with the most inane nonsense to find a way of complimenting something.

I was only half joking with my Liverpool example, it genuinely wouldn’t surprise me if it was something he said.

I think if someone landed on this planet knowing nothing about us and said “sum up what’s wrong with your club” I’d just get them to watch him interview Ange.

“So Ange we got humiliated 36-0 today, but it’s me nans birthday and the darts is on later so it’s not all bad here eh”

He's in "Bye Bye" mode.

Come on Levy, stop sitting on your hands.

Postecoglou has been rumbled at Spurs, hence his increasingly surly interviews and his downbeat responses…

He’s done at this level. Unfortunately for him, I doubt his previous level, the Scottish League, will even take him after the inevitable and well-deserved firing that’s coming.

P45 is on the way to Postecoglou; it just happens to be in Levy’s snail mail tray.

He'll easily walk back into the Celtic job if it was available.

The guy won the treble there, he'd be working with the best resources in the league and the club and their fans adore him, no brainer really.
All that aside (basically the one and only club in Scotland that can win anything), I don’t believe it’ll happen. It’s downhill from here for Postecoglou and it’s been quite public, his ideas have been found out and largely publicised at that (and ridiculed), plus he’s become increasingly an unpopular and toxic individual. He cannot (because he didn’t/couldn’t) do anything with Celtic in Europe either. That and he’s getting older.

I wouldn’t be surprised if he drops down a couple of levels.

But if you think he’d get back into Celtic… sure.

I think you're probably looking at it from the spectrum of a Tottenham fan and how you're seeing him now, these managers always fall on their feet - we said the same about Nuno and look at him now for example.
