The players played very committed defense. No real offense was generated apart from the rather fortunate goal- stats agree.

I wouldn't say there was much of a gameplan at all, other than the usual press hard + angeball, and be very committed defensively, so it's hard to see how the players could really 'hijack' it. Our opposition was of terrible quality and failed to significantly test us.

It was a rather bland battle of two offensively poor teams and we won out with marginally better defense. It also happened to be a game that awarded Spurs their first trophy in a very long while.

What I got from these two seasons:

Ange is not a fraud, out of his depth fat cunt.

He's a preety decent coach (better than Amorim apparently) but he was not hired just to coach the team. The idea was (and was frequently and clearly stated) to create a young (and cheap) team that would in the future play nice football and compete for trophies. It started well but luck wasn't on our side. Injuries (and if hamstrings were due to mismanagement -which is debatable- knee and ancle injuries and fractions surely weren't) fucked everything. Teenagers had to play in positions they never played before in all lines and the league is not a forgiving environment. Thus a very clever strategy was planned (I don't know by whom). Secure PL with minimum use of assets and concentrate on cups preferably EL that would bring CL as a bonus. FA did not go well, Carabao did much better (remember the teams we eliminated) but not to the end and EL was a success. Plan B (of the board or Ange) succeeded. End of story.
I'm afraid that when we will understand it it will be too late for tears.

Win or nothing can't be our league strategy- Ange must learn how to engineer a draw and earn vital points even if he doesn't have his favorite players available. I'm sorry but the league this year was a complete fucking disaster. Even if he is given the reins this next season he absolutely must improve his ability to win us points.

"I always win things in my second year"

This was a masterstroke quote from Ange. He didn’t need to say and it t took a lot of balls to do that but it would have made the players believe they would win something under him and that he was not here to for a laugh….

Not too much different to the CL Final, apart from the end result.

On balance I think he should stay..
But I would not let him sign players particularly attacking ones.

It's ironic that we won playing Mourinho and Conte style football.
We had an excuse because of the injuries.
But you can't take away that he proved himself a winner - that's what we wanted.

When's to say we won’t win something next year under him.

I would take a Fa Cup and 8th.

Credit to Ange. He delivered when it mattered most. Football management is not all about tactics. He made a young squad believe and got them over the line. He may not be the guy to take us further but the abuse he has taken from spurs fans in a disgrace.

To be fair the three most creative players in the team were injured in Maddison, Kulusevski and Bergvall.

lol Perfect end to his managerial arc.

What a weird ride this has been.
We went one up and then sat back knowing they didn't have enough.

You like traditional football

Tottenham fans don’t deserve him. Instead they deserve a mid table mediocrity manager like Frank or Silva who will never win anything…

Precisely...good analysis.

I'm made up for him, truly. And the player too. But also these same fucking players are the ones putting in a 22 loss season, and same for him. I'll never ever forget this night, and how it made me feel. I love him for that, but we all know this can't continue.
