He’ll be here next season that seems likely now. What I will say is I saw a bit more humble Ange post win. It does feel like a weight has been lifted at the club. His tactics were spot on last night. Thats how big clubs win trophies. Scrappy. Never gave up. The Tottenham of past would have put on a great performance and still have managed to lose somehow.
With that being said, if he is to stay, he needs to learn from his mistakes. Stop being dogmatic with the “angeball” approach that clearly doesn't work in the PL. If he had shown that sort of humbleness and willingness to learn for the whole season it wouldnt have turned so many people off.
The results have to improve quickly next season. I want a real set up and discipline in our game not just shallow philosophies.
However maybe Anges arrogance and cockiness is what this club needs.
It was a bad season. He won a trophy. We’re in CL. Make some smart decisions in the transfer window and start implementing some proper tactics and gameplay and lets see where we are at in December. I rather aim high and run the risk of failure/not winning than aim low and increase the risk of succeeding.
So, tell me then: do you prefer Spurs to play in the CL next season or play in the EL with a much bigger chance of winning that competition?
If you package the CL qualification in with the package of EL winnings, I don't think that's true, particularly not for us in the new format.
I'm not bothered what happens to Ange. I don't mind if we sack him or stick with him. I've no faith in him turning our league form around next season and making us consistent. But at the same time, I wouldn't be upset if we gave him next season as a free pass after last night. He clearly has the players behind him and we'd have momentum going into next season with Ange.
Thought it was Spurs who won but hey ho.
And I have no issue with people wanting Ange out before AND after this result. In fact I respect it. But if you'"re trying to convince me that harry7 or sudoku are somehow more abusive or vile than the likes of Daveyboyhitlernunbers and his ilk you are either lying or deluded.
There is a vanishingly small amount of Ange Inners on this site as anyone remotely reasonable was driven away by relentless abuse. Pretending you're a victim is, I'm afraid, rather pathetic.

I believe they're attracted to teams that win trophies.
I believe they're attracted to teams playing in the CL.
As we've ticked both boxes, I believe we'll attract top players.
You honestly think that "any" player who watched our team lifting that trophy, and the raw emotions they showed when that final whistle went, would be thinking "nah, can't be bothered with that?"

You get like a million euros for getting past the R016 in the EL. You get 9.4m for winning it in the CL.
The two competitions aren't comparable. The winner of a EL is usually not a good enough team to make it out the league stage of the CL - in fact, the most successful team in the competitions history were never good enough for the CL.
It's like comparing filet mignon with a beef burger. It's petty and pointless to compare winning games in the CL to winning EL games, it's not just one step down its several. Inter vs Barcelona the other week was a different sport to yesterday. A different fucking sport.
I wouldn't expect you to, I just also wouldn't expect us to use this to pretend Ange is a brilliant coach, but that's what people will & are doing, as expected.
Soon we can share the "champions of europe" title with Betis or Chelsea. It would be about as true.

Yeah I know lmao, and I knew he would be. I said he would be pre match if we won, and there was always a decent chance we win because we were playing a team who under their current coach have a PL win % comparable to Derby in the worst premier league season ever.
He's here to start next season and its going to be terrible. Whoopedy fucking doo, more depressing football and results.
So, on the topic of awkward truths, I listened to The VFTL and Jack PB pointed out that its really not easy to transform the entire philosophy and style of play mid season like Ange just did. Not many coaches can coach more than one system to any kind of level, let alone finishing 5th in the PL with one, and winning a European trophy with another.
If Ange is dropping the stubborn stuff, there’s clearly a very good coach in there

Is he? I'm not sure. He doesn't give off the vibes of someone looking ahead to a new season.
I think he has every right to expect being given next season, and every right to expect the sack for the league results.
