There are two big differences with the Ten Hag thing:

1. Ratcliffe didn't hire ETH and very publicly walked in with a remit for dramatic change, he was never going to retain the incumbent manager (or incumbent anything) for any length of time. Whereas Levy hired Ange and stuck with him through the struggles of this season.

2. United very publicly were recruiting other managers and only came crawling back to ETH after they failed. That isn't true at Spurs....yet
are you suggesting they should've crawled back?

Ok?
Frank has helped coach average players into good players. As a head coach who always speaks with insight (imo) and tactically about the game I, as you have rightly pointed out, can only assume he has had input into player development as a result. I believe this is a fair assumption as Brentford seem to improve season upon season, but you might be right and it has nothing to do with Frank?? Fair enough!

On paper we have a better squad than Brentford! Again this is my opinion. Would need to take a poll to see if the majority agree or disagree like yourself I suppose.

Frank seems to be student of the game! I have watched and listened to a number of his post/pre press conferences and a number of interviews and he has always impressed me, but again your right, this is just my opinion/assumption and I can't counter your argument by telling you I know this for sure because I'm not at Brentford's training ground every day standing alongside Frank.

I agree with what you suggest, that at Brentford just to maintain Prem status is considered a success, but I believe with a better squad of players, or not is your argument, that the "industrial" football that Brentford churn out (in your opinion) would become far more entertaining at The Lane.

Funny Old Game!
Indeed it is... if we all looked at one thing and saw the same thing, life would be so boring.

Watching Harry's nervous breakdown play out live in the Ange Thread on TFC has been simultaneously fascinating and horrifying. Kinda like passing a car accident on the motorway - don't want to gawp but just can't help yourself :D
you somehow unaware that you are seen as the biggest clown on here is similarly fascinating. why don't you make a poll about finishing 17th and winning champions league? such a brilliant take that paints us all in a corner. you sir, are a master of the internets

Can someone inform me as to why there's a sudden shift to thinking Ange is staying? Surely it's not just some Ally Gold fluff?

Ratcliffe and Dan Ashworth (which was a whole other shitshow) never had or were going to have any confidence or investment in ETH, and just failed to adequately take on a search for a manager of their own. That should have been job #1 for new leadership, not spending money the club doesn't have on the former players of a manager they don't want.

Levy hired Ange. Maybe he shouldn't have and maybe he should sack him now, but he's the guy Levy chose for the role. It's different.

Q Whats worse than all the shit you can read in about 120 forum pages about a club manager?
A Not being attractive for transfers (regardless of CL)

Make a fkn decision you bald fuck

quite similar to Eddie Howe at AFCB before he got the NUFC gig.

ditto

Presume you also thought that Howe wasn't good enough for Spurs? Especially as Howe failed when AFCB were relegated?
Why are we talking about Howe now. We were clearly discussing the merits of Frank and somehow we've transitioned to Howe. Not sure why as there is nothing that links Frank and Howe together other than they are PL managers. But I'll play you game. No I didn't want Howe and I wouldn't take him tomorrow. He is riding a perfect storm at Newcastle but I wager he will struggle to juggle the demands of CL, PL and domestic cup next season just like he did two seasons ago.

Some of these same fans were the ones calling him a fat cunt when we were 17th and hadn’t won it and some of them will be right back to it when we are having the same exact results next season.

He has no actual confidence from the fanbase. Just some emotions. Even most of his supporters were turning on him before the cup.

For sure but having been in Bilbao and subsequent I think there's a lot more good will towards him than this thread suggests. Particularly amongst younger fans.

And I agree with you. I'm not sure him staying is the right decision for either party - but that European trophy will be forever even if he's gone by October (although I'm still not convinced he's staying)

so sticking with eth into the new season was the right call?

I mean, the similarities between Frank's tenure at Brentford and Howe's at Bournemouth are extensive and obvious.

Howe's success at Newcastle definitely weighs in my mind as a point in Frank's favor.

No, it was the wrong call.
