I won’t be too upset to see him go as, if we’re honest, the football blows and it’s never going to work. But he will categorically go on to his next club and hoover up trophies.

We’re fucking jokers.

You need owners that are *obsessed* with winning. They establish the culture that runs through the club. You can just imagine the bollocks ENIC aspire too - ‘To provide the premier multimedia experience for discerning customers. Luxury cheeses and fine wines as you enjoy soccer, NFL or the latest Coldplay concert’.

It’s amazing. Hats off to them. And they will reap the financial rewards. But they are not winners.

Your right, we could be a big club if they wanted us to be sadly on the pitch they don't.
They need to act like a big club, but instead are more concerned with finding players that are winding down their contract, so we can get them on the cheap.
 
We should go after Kompany and try and agree some form of informal special relationship with City and become their two way feeder club. We take their youngsters and squad players to take points off their rivals and bend over for them twice a season and give them 6 points and a wrap around

For all my protestations about conte I think what say is attainable. Just need to let the handbrake off, instill some Italian passion in our play and our quality forwards do the biz. This what I hoped conte would do. He seems to have gone the other way. I thought he’d make us hard to play against, be a bit dirty and try to overrun teams. I think his over egged the tactics. What we needed was someone to fire the players up. Not sure we play like such softies.

Recall Udogie (even if we have to pay Udinese extra money, just do it), the FBs have speed to help Lenglet's lack of it. Romero plays in a 4 for Argentina.

Put Bentancur and Bissouma in front of them as they actually know how to play DM and have defensive instincts.

If you want 433 then play Bentancur, PEH and Bissouma. Or even throw in Skipp doesn't really matter.

Then the normal 3 up front or Perisic for Son.

Not bad but I’d go with the poch set up so play two from Biss, PEH, bent and skipp. Stick a number 10 in front like Maddison or play kulu there then have front 3 from Kane , rich, son and peri. In fact I’d play white as the 10.

Remember when Conte did well at his first real managing job (Siena), publicly lobbied for the Juventus gig, didn't get it, went to Atalanta instead, and was run out of town by their ultras within 4/5 months?

The Italians are anoraks/trainspotters about football mangers. They appreciate obsessives and eccentrics. Even top-level Italian managers will make pilgrimages to watch some random kook's novel approaches to training + tactics.

Poch always struck me as a manager who got us going from the off, and then faded 2nd half...

You know what I'm gonna say...

Get Poch at all costs for the first half, and sub him for Conte for the 2nd half...

We'd steamroller EVERYONE!

Thing is we are caught between a rock and hard place. What is conte saying we have vision for young players and accessible salaries? Who dies he want and what would their age and salaries be?

ENIC are just an accountancy firm, no interest in making it the top club.
Their incentive, is, to make it the most profitable club around, at the expense of bringing success.

I’m pretty sure the biggest financial rewards, including resale value, would come for the owners if we were to be successful on the pitch - being “the top club” (PL or CL winners) would be a massive profit generator.
