3 EFL and EL games in January, 4 EPL games.Tomo Not sure he's really ready for Prem but he's been reguarly starting in the Championship, albeit in a back 5 for a struggling Stoke side. I think the club see him as far more progressed than Dorrington, obviously having had much more experience playing against men. Do worry a bit about him in the high line but not really many other options left. Worth noting as well he's cup-tied for the EFL cup and can't play in the last 2 Europa group games.

I’d happily move Gray into the Cm rotation and play Phillips at CB…I think. Saying that, I’ve never really seen Phillips play
Phillips is not a List B player, so he couldn't play in the 2 EL games in January - which is also true of any other players we bought in January unless they were Club trained.
And to play in any EL game in the knock out rounds from February onwards we'd need to take an existing player out of EL squad in order to play him in the later rounds. We can only make 2 changes to EL squad for the rest of the season, and Spence to also fit in, so I can't see him being only other change we make.
If he's part of a team unit over there I'd rather him stay there for his developments sake. Are we really that far off from the return of any of Romero, VdV, or Davies? Can Bentancur or Spence not stand in as CB against weak teams?
Are we really in such a desperate position in the league already to need to recall this man from what has been by all accounts a productive loan?
If Ange thinks Philips is ahead of Dorrington, maybe recall Philips and send Dorrington to Stoke for the second half of the season in his place?
I don't think Stoke will be happy about that. I'd rather the club just find a better CB to take on loan.
Dorrington should himself be sent on a loan, maybe to L1 or Belgium or something.
Think if Dorrington goes out on loan it should be abroad, maybe westerlo might be an option?

If he's recalled; it's as a stop-gap until the 1st 2 senior CBs return from injury(*) and then likely doesn't play again for the rest of the season.
(*)How far away they are from doing so is the crux of the decision; but it's totally the wrong decision to deprive Phillips of his next 5 months on loan for the sake of 2/3 games here in a hotch-potch back four for a team on a losing streak.

Good, the chances of us getting no more injuries is less than zero.
A team having all four of their senior CBs injured all at the same time is a freakish circumstance.
We have limited squad spaces to allow contingency for such low % circumstances.
Phillips is 19 so he would qualify as an U21 player.

Has he been recalled as yet? I'm not sure of the terms of his loan.
Just send them Dorrington on loan.
Nah- if Phillips is simply better than Dorrington they will likely not accept it-better to help them to success also and cultivate a relationship so we can send more player to them for productive loans- symbiosis.
