In all seriousness though, for someone so maligned, it was so frustrating to see him constantly bomb on overlaps and into advanced areas and be totally ignored.
It really shows how far the decline has gone.
Thought he was our best player even aside from the goal scored, I'm sure there must have been people crying about him starting too.

Most people just regurgitate the last opinion they saw. Hence why Davies tends to get shit.
He has always given 100% and been very reliable when called upon at both CB and LB. He’s been a consummate professional and a credit to our club for over a decade.
He isn’t a luxury player so rarely gets the plaudits but pretty much every time he plays people have something positive to say about his performance.
He comes across as a top bloke and has a reputation of being incredibly well liked by everyone at the club for the entire time he’s been here. I’d take Ben Davies in our squad over 90% of the players we’ve seen come and go over the last 11 years.
