We've also (touch wood) been fortunate with regards to Kane's fitness this season compared to previous (hey - maybe because he hasn't had to play much European football thus far).

It's by no means implausible that Kane picks up one of his annual injuries and Vinicius gets to properly show what he's made of. Then cue a hard reversal of opinion from those saying we don't need a backup striker.
Well then...

Probably negotiating tactics.. "listen we didn't even play him so much since he isn't all that good... you can either take him back or let us have him for 15 mil".. other clubs would hesitate to buy him too since he had a "failed" loan spell at a good club

Awful decision putting Son up top with his back to goal, at least Vinnie could have tried to hold the ball up leaving Son to try get in behind.
Even if he’s not going to sub on Vinicius, why take away the only attacking outlet that was working in the first half? Bergwin could’ve played the Kane role so that Son could continue making runs in behind.

Son as a lone 9 is a day off for most teams CBs.

If he doesn't start the next match it's just poor form from Mourinho. Kane needs a rest regardless of anything, we got him for a reason.

Play him up front with Son left and either Bale or Lucas right. He seems to work well with Lucas but tbh this is what we have Bale for, hes fit so play him. Berg looked very tired end of the match yday he needs a rest.

Just ffs play the man, he's scored every match he's stated, it's Brighton, play him!

Well we all knew that when we signed another striker, we’d only see them in cup games and when Harry was injured.

Looks like he’s going to get his chance now. Hope he takes it.

Will be pretty fucking annoyed if he doesn’t come in as a straight replacement. Do not want to see some kind of false nine bullshit in the next few matches.

His track record suggests his level is somewhere between Marine and Wycombe.
Honestly think he could score 40-50 goals in the conference.

Don't expect to find out what he would be like in the Premier League.

Oh yeah, Stevie Bergwijn the centre forward. Lol.
At the very least it would’ve kept Son in his favoured position.

In the second half instead of just accommodating for Kane, felt like we had to for Son as well since we got away from what makes him most effective. Stevie, when compared to Son, is better with his back to goal and hold up play.

Vinnie would’ve idéal of course, bad substitutions aside, that 2nd half was a tactical failure as well.

No way Bergwijn is anywhere near physical enough to play up top against a side like Liverpool, regularly more anonymous than not. His 'bargain' fee is beginning to not look all that thrifty IMO.

Vinnie would have been ideal? Maybe the guy who sees them every day knows better.
