Tottenham Hotspur visit the EBB Stadium on Friday evening for another half-term treat as they face Chelsea in a Barclays Under 21 Premier League clash.
Spurs are currently third in the table, six points ahead of 10th placed Chelsea, although – even after Monday’s 2-0 home defeat against Manchester City – the Blues have two games in hand.
Spurs boast an array of youth internationals in their squad – from England, the United States, Japan, Republic of Ireland, Serbia, Cyprus and Slovakia – plus England Under 21 winger Alex Pritchard and several players who have already made first-team debuts.
As well as Pritchard, midfielders Harry Winks, Anton Walkes and Josh Onomah have all played for the first-team, whilst goalkeeper Luke McGee has been an unused substitute. Right-back Kyle Walker-Peters – not to be confused with right-back Kyle Walker – is tipped to be the next Spurs Academy prospect to break through into Mauricio Pochettino’s squad.
Attacking midfielder Kenneth McEvoy already has League experience in loan spells with Peterborough United and Colchester United; Serbian defensive-midfielder Milos Veljkovic has been loaned to Middlesbrough and Charlton Athletic; Connor Ogilvie has featured for Stevenage, and midfielder Emmanuel Sonupe spent part of last season with St Mirren. Centre-half Cameron Carter-Vickers, meanwhile, played for the USA at the Under 20 World Cup earlier this year.
Tottenham’s last visit to the EBB Stadium, in August 2013, was with a side featuring Harry Kane and Nabil Bentaleb.
Kick-off at the EBB Stadium is 7.05pm. Admission is £3 for adults and £1 for concessions, with season ticket holders admitted free.
