Arteta hasn’t give him a break in ages. Last 2 seasons his form fell off a cliff as the season went on, wonder if it will repeat.

The talk among one or two of the Arse fans I know is that Saka has long term tendon issues that need to be managed well. Arteta however is cold and ruthless and is happy to burn him out over the next 2-3 years to try and win the league/CL, if by then Saka’s career is over or he is similar to our Ledley King they will just buy a replacement and get rid of Saka.

They need the rapist (who by the way shouldn’t be on a fucking football pitch!) as he is a proper 6 who can control from the base on the midfield and pass forward through the lines. Havertz offers something’s but the balance with Rice as 6 makes them clunky at passing forward.

They still have a really good side though, just Rice at 6 and Zinchenko as a left back who can’t defend is still a weakness.

In the last 20ish years all the DM’s on the dominant teams were able to either pick a pass (Busquets, Mascherano, Fernandinho, Carrick, Mikel, Makelele) or be a long range threat (Fabinho, Rodri, Casemiro, Kimmich) against the bus parkers.

£100mil for ball recoveries isn’t going to cut it.

Quite amusing the other day on talksport with ohara and cundy a mad gooner saying he wanted legohead out. Laughable. 90 minutes away from wanting their manager out if they lose one game. Wasn't Roy Keane an #8 back in the day anyway?

He was actually more of a box to box midfielder in a 4-4-2, not sure what number you'd categorise him as but he definitely wasn't a #6.

Basically coaches are always after a way to control the midfield both on and off the ball. Someone like Ange creates overloads by pushing the fullbacks narrow and high.

Someone like Simeone/conte wants to catch you overcommitting leaving 40+ yards of space behind.
