Player Cristian Romero

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Post World Cup I think he believes his own hype and has had his head turned by the Madrid rumours.

Is he better than a team fighting relegation?

Is he worthy of a team fighting to get to the CL quarter finals?

If I’m his agent that’s what I’m asking him anyway.

Is Spurs the club to fulfill his football ambitions and his monetary worth. Probably got one more big money long contract in him.

That's nice. Was he the best defender on the pitch in the final? What was the rest of his game like?

Traore was an utterly forgettable footballer, Romero is a completely different level to whatever Djimi was.

You'll get sarcasm before Timo finds the back of the net, we all believe in you Ricardo.

Personally, I don't rate Cuti as world class, nowhere near actually. The fact he played well vs Deschamps' France in that WC final changes nothing. France were atrocious for 80+ mins, never attacked the Argie backline. Soon as they did, Mbappe bummed them. Oh and the small matter that the trophy was already in Messi's backpocket before the inaugural game even kicked off.

Real Madrid want him, they can have him. As a former Milanese I think Carlo will soon realise Eder, Rudiger and Alaba are all better and more reliable.

Played consistently well for Argentina over the past 4 years and they've won 2 Copa America's back to backs and a World Cup but yeah let's just focus on one match which you're wrong about anyway, good argument. 🤦‍♂️

I'm on the fence with Romero. I've no doubt that he's got the potential to be world class but he does suffer with inconsistency and for me you can't be both world class and inconsistent. He's made too many mistakes in a Spurs shirt for us to say he's been brilliant for us. He has the potential to be on of the best in the world so I want him in our team and I want him to show us how good he is, but until he does it consistently for a full season then the jury is out on him.

Lets not forget, it was his mistakes that ruined our last 2 seasons:
22/23 - Stupid red Card against AC Milan when we were still in the tie. Season was over after that.
23/24 - Stupid red card against Chelsea when we were 1-0 up and 5 points clear at the top of the league. We never recovered from that and season fell apart.

Hey?!

He was directly responsible for several preventable goals.

How is that not contributing to lost points?!

I actually agree with you that when he played he made a lot of fuck ups that resulted in goals but you're focusing on isolated moments, whose to say his general play like goals prevented or playing out from the back to relieve pressure etc... prevented more goals from going in?

We need some context in here :bentancurpoint:

Entitled to your opinion.

I think it’s an opinion stacked with convenient denials and very little substance but we don’t need to agree on it.

I bet we both agree that replacing Romero for the money we like to spend on wages will be far from easy.

Looks like Cuti may have played his last game for us. No doubt frozen out and wrapped up for a sale in the Sunmer following his outspoken criticism if Levy and the board.

Respect Cuti :adesalute:

You did you're duty well.

This season I agree but I don't think it's unreasonable to consider the volume of games and international travel he put in the season before when evaluating the mistakes he was making. They were out of character based on the season before.

Only really this season.

Tbh I don't see the positional issues or him getting beaten easily in the air. You are entitled to your opinion of course. My opinion is that he dominates players and he does it to the very best players as well. Haaland still hasn't found a way out of his pocket.
