Which one is which one?Would very much like to see he and Tanganga get a good run at CB. Could be our new Ledley and Daws.
Thats ok I like his aggression our defenders tend to be too passive at times which invites pressure not entirely disagreeing with you he has to just his spots more wisely. He was good overall but we will regularly concede goals if he doesn't curb his instinct to step out all the time. This is not Serie A, opponents in the PL play so much faster that you can't afford to step out and miss the ball.
It's ok - let him work through it. We look like we have a player on our hands.I think he played well, but I did think he was rash for the Villa goal. He went out, made a foul (which got him a yellow) but didn't stop the game with the foul, then Villa took advantage of our centre-half being out of position.
But we need to get him in there playing every week. Thought Dier did well as his partner today, so may as well continue with that pairing for the forseeable.
On paper they should cover each others weaknesses. And so far they have looked a decent pairing. But in the long run we need to replace Dier in that duo. Rodon could possibly grow into it.If you believe in the dog and cat theory of center back pairings, him and Dier could be very good together.
Statistically, Romero is one the top 3 most aggressive CBs in the world in terms of tackles, pressures, interceptions, etc. Whereas Dier grades out as much more cautious CB. Hope they get a run of games together.
I agree, Dier has been very solid for me so far this season, but I think he probably can’t keep it up forever. On paper they should cover each others weaknesses. And so far they have looked a decent pairing. But in the long run we need to replace Dier in that duo. Rodon could possibly grow into it.

If we can secure regular Europa League next season I think that Pau could be convinced to join. I just hope that we keep building young and hungry mainly. Mix a few veteran names in of course. Kamara at Marseille is also a interesting name. But he may be too short to play CB in England where most CBs are proper tall lads.I agree, Dier has been very solid for me so far this season, but I think he probably can’t keep it up forever.
I know he turned us down this summer, but I’d love to see us return next summer for Pau Torres. We’re really lacking a ball playing center half and don’t have a single left footed center half either, he’s one of the best ball players at the position there is. Think Torres and Romero could be our new Toby and Jan.
Yeah, I definitely don’t disagree with any of that. I like Sanchez more than most on this board, but I don’t think him and Romero would be a good pairing. Both very aggressive and I think not well balanced. Rodon definitely deserves a chance at some point, maybe Tanganga too.Perhaps.
But Dier needs to stop pinging passes to the opposition goal keeper. He’s not Toby and it just invites pressure immediately back on to us.
I like Dier as a professional and he’s made of strong stuff, but I’d sooner see if there is anything in Rodon/Sanchez alongside him.

As said above, I think in the long run we could use a ball playing left footer.
Romero and Sanchez could work if we played a back 3. Since we could have Dier or Rodon play the more defensive role in between or next to them.Yeah, I definitely don’t disagree with any of that. Yeah supposedly he did after we agreed to a fee with Villarreal. I also desperately want him.Didn't Pau Torres reject us in the summer? He would have been perfect.
He’s sensational (Torres). Both him and Romero would create havoc stepping into midfieldI agree, Dier has been very solid for me so far this season, but I think he probably can’t keep it up forever.
