The thing is its a team game, yes Romero made a mistake but had the rest of the team done their jobs his mistake wouldn't have cost us, you can't be having all the possession and 20+ shots and getting an own goal as you single goal of the game.

Funny how we're saying this every other match now.
Romero could be world class, but his positioning and hot headedness severely handicap his performances.
Barnes might still have scored if Romero hadn’t gone walkabout, but you can’t dismiss his hot headed gallop up the pitch left us woefully exposed at the back.
The best centre backs have a cool head to go alongside their ability. IMHO it’s his poor decision making that stops him being in the same category as prime Toby and Jan, who for me are the yardstick of recent Tottenham centre backs that others should be measured against.

I feel sorry for BJ, he's obviously got talent, but whether its nerves, confidence, loss of form - at the moment he's a passenger in the team.
He came on yesterday and banged loads of crosses over the goal line, because there was nobody there to receive them, he took a shot at goal that was going wide until Pope spooned it to Burns who smashed it into the net.
His decision making isn't good.
Odobert however, stepped up from his first performance and was much better

I have explained what I think of BJ and that's what it is all about - the paucity of his performances up to date. I have made jokes about them (I'm such a naughty boy) and my comments have been echoed by a growing number of other posters who feel the same way.
If BJ suddenly starts putting in stellar performances, I'll be happy to eulogise them, and furthermore, if he puts in a good performance and gets accused of playing badly or being responsible for a mistake he didn't make or the concession of a goal that he could do nothing about - I will stand behind him and contest the people heckling him.
I dislike hypocrites and go out of my way to avoid hypocrisy, and you are far more worthy claimant of that behaviour for the scorn and derision you poured on Winks, than I have ever been.

Those saying Romero's issues are due to Ange's tactics (and they are responsible for many a 1v1 with the CBs...often mitigated by VDV's pace) only need look to his time under Conte...same mistakes, same issues in a much lower block and without the FB exposure. He has his merits (most would be beneficial in a better team but have less utility in ours) but his flaws probably push him to a net negative in his time with us.
He's an interventionist without a feel for collective defending...and he's like 26 or 27 so it ain't getting any better...he's form now. Said it after his first season, maintained it after his 2nd, and continue to subscribe to the view that we should pump his stock up and rid ourselves of him. If some RM 100M interest is true then we should bite their hands off.
