Player Cristian Romero

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Doing a 180 here. As irritatingly inconsistent as he can be, the guy's a winner. It was crystal clear in the EL final. There's nobody I'd rather have in defence on such an occasion. Double his wages, maybe make him captain and allow him to bellow at whoever the fuck he wants. It would be madness to let him go.

I agree Romero on the most part through this season has been a little off but again you can’t discount injuries, had only 18 league apperances and VdV much less. I’d worry more about how easily he loses the head than his consistency. I was surprised he didn’t rise to Maguire in the final, I’m by no means a violent guy but I’d love to spark Maguire clean out… I have no ties to Greece btw.

That's why I think it's a masterstroke from Ange to start Son from the bench, so Romero was the captain to lead the team first and Son later in the game to lift the trophy for us.
Ange's man-management of Romero has been really good in general. Putting him in the leadership group at the start of his tenure seemed crazy, but it was exactly the right thing to do, both he and the team have benefited from that.

I think the key for Spurs is to try and get Romero on a new contract rather than allowing him run it down another year. If he's refusing to sign a new contract then we will have to consider selling him but the vibes I'm seeing suggest he is open to staying.

So the key is to get him on a new contract if he is staying.

Romero seems to be doing a lot of spurs social media content since the cup win. Is that him or his media company?
Shop window!

Last couple of weeks is a lesson in how quickly football can change. Romero had had an awful season, with injuries, poor form etc. Then he plays really well in the SF, and MoTM in the final. Then he's the EL player of the year. His stock is suddenly sky high again across Europe.

Everybody seems a bit naive in relation to Romero. Stuff on social media means nothing. He’s not great with his English and his agents will have put stuff out. We would know by now if he was going to sign another contract. Probably end up with Simeone at Athleti. Get as much as we can and move on.
He has averaged 20 games per season over 4 seasons. Argentina always the priority.

I think the key is showing ambition this summer. The club shows him ambition he signs a new contract by the end of next season. If not he's sold at the end of next season as he won't be renewing.

I'd be amazed if Romero is not having surgery on his toe this week to ensure he gets a decent pre-season under his belt. Hopefully it is not an injury that can only have rest as it will plague him for the rest of his career.

100% this - Feel good talk/posts are only just that cheap talk - If we’re not gonna sell him this summer then he needs to sign on the dotted line and affirm that he wants to be a part of our medium/long term future.

I’d bet Trent was also making all right noises two summers ago as he was plotting like a snake to leave for Madrid on a free transfer this summer …

2nd quote on the X account:
"Come to Atleti brother, leave these zionists."

That right there is the problem!
Fucking Zionists ...
Spurs = Jews = Zionists!!
Ignorant lMadrista racist pricks!

I don't think this looks like a man wanting to leave.

Winning an EL medal and playing CL next season seems to have made him firmly a 'stayer' not a 'leaver'. Be nice if he'd sign a contract extension - whether that's one year (allowing him to more easily in 12 months time) or longer such as 4 years.

Im assuming he didnt sit at his computer late at night cutting spurs videos to post on his twitter.

His PR company are good at PR.

Got nothing to do with Zionists it's just JEWS because they are racist simpletons. Someone once crunched the numbers on demographics Chelsea had more actual Jewish fans than Spurs did. But cretins don't do nuance.
That's exactly the point...

People wanna know why Tottenham are seemingly hated by SO many rival fans, for no apparent reason at all...
(it's certainly not jealousy... or maybe after Wednesday it is now?)

But there IS and has been a deep lying reason, it's just everyone is too scared to acknowledge it!
